Yeah, but you aren’t gonna sit down in the middle of combat and load a 50 round magazine bullet by bullet. You’d take out your side-arm and defend yourself.

If I had said bullets instead of cartridges I’d understand, but seriously… clip and mag? Really?
Who says that they were “done right…”. You do understand that that is an opinion? What’s “done right” is what the developers feel is best and or finished…which may also be seen as an opinion. What’s “done right” is only decided by the developers and even down to what we call… “The beta testers…” or essentially your “gamer” which even the devs are. So in away…a gamer’s opinion matters as much as a dev’s only because a dev was and/or is a gamer…(obviously) stating that the argument isn’t as biased as you would initially think. This would mean that the dev’s and gamer’s opinions matter just about the same. Because the devs listen to the gamers… 
Eh…for the most part that is…unless you are corrupt and overconfident with your work…or a genius, or an outright fool or gifted…whichever the cases…we all have a say in it…ahh don’t you just love the freedom of speech…even if it is entitled to the mindless people out there stretched firmly across the earth…panning it.

I’m sure you’re not aware of some other common misconceptions in games because you don’t know their correct usage. So the only difference here is that you’re aware THIS time.
And there is a subtle difference, it’s not like clip and magazine have two wildly different definitions.
Yes, I’m sure I don’t know everything. Even if it is highly unlikely. 
But that still doesn’t mean it’s ok to use wrong terms on purpose. I can understand if someone doesn’t know the difference and uses a wrong word, but if you don’t give a flying fuck and deliberately use wrong terms, you shouldn’t be surprised if someone corrects your mistakes.
I agree with those who say that having a complexe IA doesn’t make it good INGAME. The hl2 gunfights are not fun, challenging, or realistic.

In my opinion, less evolved IA or not, the hl1 gunfights where simply better, more fun and more challenging.
I’d much rather have in BMS something closer to hl1 than hl2, but then again I guess the fact that the environments are different in BMS (bigger & more realistic) forces you to adapt…

Not at all, you’re actually far more on topic than even the discussion we were having.
I think it would just make more sense to see some grunts using their pistols in the later game.
