Black Mesa 2009 Update

Rofl - you think there is no such thing as stupidity. Ask your parents if they’ll take off your chains and lift up that rock they have you living under. You’re trying to imply that people are just ignorant and need to learn. WRONG. There are plenty of people out there too stupid to learn. Also you say you should pity them - pity is for those that believe they are better than the ones they pity. Trust me, after reading a few of your posts, you aren’t in a position to pity anyone. Worry about yourself, kid.

Can we keep at least NEAR the topic of Black Mesa not being released in 2009…?

So yeah, BM isn’t out yet. They oughta’ do something about that.

I know! We’ll go make our own Black Mesa, with blackjack and hookers!

In fact, forget the mod and the blackjack! Ah, screw the whole thing.

Favorite Bender quote:
B-E-N-D-E-R… BEEEeeeeEEENDer. B-E-N-D-E-R.

Ah to be young again, and also a robot!

I only spent about 30 minutes in the US, it was nothing special.

I’m beginning to think of how the mod will be released. Will there be an advanced heads up of a couple of days? Or will I just venture to the site one day and see a link? Is something gonna pop up on steam?

Also, how long must I wait? The post says we’re close, but seems like some of the devs are giving the impression that a lot of stuff isn’t done yet. I guess me question is, should I stop checking this site daily.

I know the mod may still be a few months away, but I still check this site everyday.

Also, they seem to insinuate that the mod will just suddenly be released… but in all honesty I doubt even they have really thought about it at this point.

Yeah, me too, I hope it won’t take more than two or three months. I don’t think they’ve missed their 2009 deadline by that much.

Pardon me for putting analogy in your mouth, but…

Say there are people who don’t know how to drive a car, but they are driving a car in the traffic. What do you do? Your suggestion is to ignore them (“Don’t give them any attention so as not to feed them”) and definitely not to try to teach them anything (“it’s wrong to imply that people are just ignorant and need to learn”).

Well, congratulations, your approach would surely lead to a wonderful world. Except for the fact that with your approach, dr. Lister would never teach other doctors that they should not touch women in labour with unwashed hands after working on corpses in the morgue, and so mortality during labour would still be so high none of us would probably be here.

If someone is doing something really wrong, then you RESTRAIN them from doing it, PUNISH them for doing it, or EDUCATE them on how to do it correctly. In ideal world, you would then also OBSERVE if they manage to do it right the next time (where applicable), and if they do it wrong agian, then you intensify or alternate in your response.

Ignorance is a response that is not recommended in cases of longterm interaction between subjects (such as in a family (parent ignoring a child) or in workspace (employee ignoring a colleague)), exactly because it generates attention whores.

Anyway, could this thread be closed, because it obviously no longer serves its purpose?

Such a nice way to top off 100 pages :]

It’s like reading a comic book :open_mouth:

a comic where the main character doesnt star for 100 pages…

A comic where the plot keeps getting more and more boring as the story goes on.

there are still two on that list who can win a prize! …I have an idea what the devs can give me as a birthday present

like releasing the mod a day later than your guessed on purpose since the devs are bags filled with phallic objects

I’ve been accompaining the development of BMS for some time now, and I really can’t wait till it’s released. Although I do prefer quality over releasing soon…
James Cameron’s Avatar took 4~5 years from pre-production to release to be done. (Not counting the time he waited till the tech was available)… BMS is 6 years on the making, and it is only on 2010 that we start seeing a light at the end of the tunnel… :stuck_out_tongue:
Oh well. At least it looks promising and it seems it’ll come out this year. Looks better than “They Hunger: Lost Souls”… No one ever heard of BWG anymore… :frowning:

I’d say that the U.S. is a pretty mild country, in terms of living here.

airports usually are nothing special.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
