What prophecies? The calendar ended at the end of the Mayan year (the winter solstice). It was five thousand years forwards, why keep going? I see no evidence of a prophecy.
Do you think they would be stupid enough to create a calendar that can’t continue forever? They probably knew that the world would end after that year so they didn’t bother.
