Plus, Halo 2 was a godawful port job (literally one of the worst I’ve seen) that they used to try to launch the equally godawful Games For Windows live, so it sold terribly. If Microsoft hadn’t screwed the pooch, it might have sold well and the newer Halo games might have come to Windows.
minecraft, minecraft, minecraft, minecraft, bioshock 2 , hope this list helps with your holiday shopping.
This, if for no other reason than because it deserves more attention.
What was special about VVVVVV?
:fffuuu:
no…just no
Mass Effect 2 and Starcraft II
QWOP
Yes
Starcraft II
QWOP was made 2008 though
I didn’t say they were bad, the game is extremely well made for a small indie production. It just still doesn’t make it the best game of the year IMO, because no matter how good job they did, they still just can’t compete with the “real” game companies with hundreds of developers such as Bioware.
Well afaik the only game I both bought and came out this year was reach. Wasn’t bad actually, a little short and the final “boss” was crap, but aside from that a solid shooter.
It was something different and enjoyable.
I said “Because it deserves more attention.” Everyone is going to say something like Civ 5 or Mass Effect 2, so going with something just as much fun but more obscure and less predictable.
I wasn’t too impressed with 2010. What I played of Red Dead Redemption was great, same goes for the Goldeneye Remake, but as for games I actually bought…
Super Meat Boy
Amnesia
Singularity
A controversial list, I know, but what the hell. Those are the games that really stuck with me this year.
I also liked ME 2, but I disliked that it didn’t have any interesting main story line to tell.
Letdown of 2010: Mafia 2. :meh:
I personally cant wait for the StarCraft II expansions, but what i cant wait for even more is StarCraft III (yes there is going to be a StarCraft III, if you beat the game you’ll find out why)
But how. I’ve only heard people say that and then they never explain it. I haven’t played it personally and all the video make it look like a standard platformer with ugly graphics.
The game is good for its unique gameplay mechanics, level design, music and super hard difficulty.
I’ll back this. Although the game was actually too hard for my tastes. Like, fucking Battletoads/Contra hard. But it was definitely worth the $5 or whatever I paid for it.
These simple three words will make any VVVVVV player rage beyond belief.
“Veni, Vidi, Vici”
Wings of Liberty was only 1/3 of the story. They are releasing the game in three parts for three reasons.
They came up with enough story for each race’s campaign to make a full length game.
They didn’t want to make people wait however long to start the story.
Bobby Kotick wants more money.
There may be a Starcraft III, but they probably aren’t planning on it. Blizzard usually doesn’t plan that far ahead. See: Starcraft. It’s sequel didn’t come out for over 10 years. Same with Diablo II.
I didn’t play a lot of 2010 releases, but out of the ones that I did play that I enjoyed, Mass Effect 2 is awesome and on PC.
