Nice work!
After seeing the barrels in several areas I decided to go back and redo some of them and add a few variants. I think these fit much better into the environment and they also match up to the single barrel skins.
Nice! I especially like the drip stains on the bottom right barrels.
Barrels are very nice, but the belts should be more worn-off IMHO.
Very small UV space so hard to depict.
This is why I don’t get too far done with my lists… doing testing on lighting issues and went through the locker room in AM. Saw something again that bugged me so I made a model for it. Have fun figuring where is goes.
(ignore the ott bloom)
No, I will notice it more.
Also, why not just make the column a single object from ceiling to floor? That metal thing looks a bit jarring.
What did it look like before? I don’t remember a column being there. Regardless it looks good. Do you care about / want criticisms? If so, I’ll share but it seems like this is more of a ‘this is what I did’ vs a ‘wanting opinions’ thread.
Yeah, the metal ‘beam’ looks kinda out of place.
Yeah its a what I did post. Apparently you guys don’t like those so I’ll stop doing them.
Don’t get me wrong: It’s a really well done model and texture. You’ve done a great job making it.
But… What is it?
I can’t describe how much I appreciate you going through and replacing brushes with detailed models like this. They look so, soooo much better.
I know that metal thing looks a bit out of place but having been in a few underground areas I have seen things like that prop on the supports, looks ugly as hell but I think they have A reason for being there I just don’t know what.
Keep up the awesome work. Those Power Up control panels in particular looked fantastic in the in game shots.
They are pivot joints, they are used mostly with bridges or in the basement of buildings built in earthquake prone areas.
Considering the amount of tremors the AMS makes when it’s running, putting that there makes a lot of sense.
It’s not the sort of thing a layperson would be likely to be aware of, but it’s a good detail for those who know architecture and engineering.
And now I know it too!
Deleted for derailing and violating blog rules.
As a suggestion for added realism and maximum structure support, ceilings should have a cutout to allow all of these pivot joints to make direct contact with a reinforced concrete pad incorporated into the ceiling’s structure, so that any shifting due to earthquakes doesn’t affect/damage/crush the flimsy ceiling tiles . . . . . yeah, OK . . . it’s just a game.
Dadster. While you are probably correct it is more work than is needed and 99% of the people didn’t know what the prop was. Please don’t start any derailing comments, this will be the only time I warn you.
