Opening

You know how there are some animes where you just stand around looking at scenery? Yeah, Baccano doesn’t really do that except when it comes to violence. It’s actually pretty brutal and is rated M for Mature audiences. But it’s also mature in the sense of telling a very elaborate story through the viewpoints of an ensemble cast that represents a wide spectrum of interesting and intelligent characters.

Fuck Hulu it’s US only.

Fuck socialized health care it’s developed nations only.

Wait I don’t think that is the same thing.

Mostly I’m just trying to say there are plenty of services that are denied because of world location. But that’s life.

Why would the Japanese care about 1930s America? Weren’t they busy with the yakuza when that shit was going on?

Yeah, that’s like Hollywood making a movie about the history of another country.

Especially a time period that featured such things as violence, intrigue, betryal, and multiple allies and enemies.

And then just started adding stuff until it was busting at the seems with top quality entertainment.

Most of those are based off of crappy comic books though.

I love the characters’ “American” names on this series - they all look like randomly generated spam Captcha text.

I’ll bet 1930’s America was simply overflowing with people named “Jacuzzi Splot” and “Szilard Quates.”

Most of what?

Whoa whoa back it up. Wasn’t The Wandering God banned?

I think it was Iky who was banned, but TWG used to have “The Wandering God” at the bottom of his posts. Iky also did that whenever he remembered.

Hulu… Is it dubbed? If it is, I’ll sit in a corner and cry… :’(

H.U.L.U.=Holy Unnamed List of Ubershit

sorry I just had to do it.

Thanks for that absolutely useless post, there.

Anyway, I might watch this. It’s kinda hard to peg it for violence, though. The intro seems pretty light-hearted.

I mean, are we talking Elfen Lied violence or more slapstick violence?

Do you seriously want to go there?

In the first episode, someone is shot directly in the head making for a mess. You see someone grip a knife and when the knife’s pulled back, a couple of fingers come off as well.

I never saw Elfen Lied, but after using this random AMV video as a reference, I have to say that Baccano isn’t quite that violent. But it does come close on a fairly regular basis.

I was merely parodying your statement by saying something is bad b/c I don’t have access to it while others do. I myself support socialized health care and feel that America not having it is a tragedy.

He didn’t say it was bad. He simply said ‘Fuck Hulu’, and he said it because he can’t easily use it, which would make it a bad service in his eyes.

it would be akin to me saying ‘To Hell Angelina Jolie. She won’t have sex with me.’ Doesn’t mean the sex is bad, but I’m saying to hell with her, because I can’t tap 'dat ass.

Your doin it wrong. It should be “Fuck Germany (or insert other home country here) - it’s non-Hulu!”

Cool! Japanese people living in 1930’s Chicago gambling and drinking hard really turns me on!

ooh ooh ooh! yes! I want to go there!

The show is fairly awesome.

Like, really cool. I legit laughed at points, so I guess it’s not bad at all.
