B&W

I just ate a grape :jizz:
.

It’s too late to scan that cool sketch. I got an exam tomorrow. So, a repost.

Yum. That took about three hours and then some. I drew half of it during school (the easy [top] half). Very fun times. The gun was a bitch though. I couldn’t get it just right for a long while.

As promised: link to the 300 dpi version.

Basically a more durable version of the Cremator’s coat, with a less flimsy weapon. Hehe I’m suddenly reminded of the gluon gun

I go for the hard stuff.

Mm say that again. Sounds so sexy. :stuck_out_tongue:

I got a bit of talent. My dad went to art school himself when he was about my age. But he didn’t teach me anything directly, though he does encourage me. I remember he tried to teach me watercolors, but that didn’t get anywhere.

I took one year of art in highschool, Freshman year. (I’m just about done with Sophomore.) It helped my shading a good deal. Also it let me practice my quick-drawing on a regular basis: it was a first period class, and we practiced object drawing almost every day and I often slept through a good 30 of the 50 minutes. 20 minutes is definitely in the quick-draw range. :stuck_out_tongue:

The sketch I keep talking about wanting to post, is basically the culmination of the quick-draw lessons. I did it for myself, not for the class (well partly to show off, really). But it took a lot longer than 20 min, and it’s also based off a photo, not a live object.

Other than that, I just draw a lot. Especially from reference, because that’s how I learn. The trick is to use the reference in clever new contexts.

Here’s the “cool sketch” I was talking about. 2 or 3 days, about an hour each day. It was made for a “daily mission” at this indie game dev community I used to frequent. (It’s dead now. :[ )

This scan has not been edited. I only cleaned up a few stray pencil smudges. I thought about adjusting the levels, but I think I’ll pass for this one. It’s too easy to make a mistake. The paper original is darker than the one on screen.

Comment!

My birthday just happened. I’m 16. It was an above average day, but the party I’ve got together for Saturday is gonna blow it out of the waters. :pirate:

On a more relevant note… I don’t have any new drawings. But! I’m working on a plague doctor. It’s looking great.

Hmm… what to post? Something out of the archives but that also reflects my current ability… Aha!

Here’s a nice crop of a screenshot from the game I’m making. Though it’s not much, I like how it turned out. Also of the Feb 03 build.

And here’s some ASCII art. This one’s pretty aged. One of the few I’ve ever made. I think it’s the skull panda from the Sam&Max webcomic. I don’t even remember what the comic was about anymore.

I stopped updating because I was working on something else, and because I dump my art on facebook now, mostly.
Still, while I’m here checking out the news, might as well update.

that picture my god its badass. all your pictures are awesome.

when I saw the Teaman I instantly thought about saving it so I could remember later. I’d photoshop it to have background of something like Hong Kong for a desktop but i would feel wrong about doing that to such a beautiful piece.

Hey that’s the cremator from HL2 beta!

Have you even seen the Immolator? This thing looks like a twig in comparison.

Something new:

A quick little concept art for a world I have in mind.
Same one I’ve got screenshots of in this thread.
About 40-ish minutes, pencil + ink. I need narrower pens, hahahaha

It’s not an accurate description of any place in the world. It’s meant to give the viewer an idea of how a mid-size city in the world might look like.

As to that extent, I think that my idea of the world’s cities is a little small.

Something old, from August 2008

Cyber Chief

My first real attempt at making a good pic all on a computer.
It was meant to be a desktop background.
There’s many things wrong with it, but I am still proud of it, for a first.
Unfortunately I got bored, and then lost the USB drive that had the editable.

Go right ahead, I’d love to see it!

I might remake it sometime, but I don’t usually return to bettering old stuff.
If I find the USB with my old editables, the chances of me remaking it would go up.

Yeah… hmm… I don’t know. The Immolator looks so unwieldy and its barrel looks so flimsy. Both guns are fine, I suppose.

And because I drew the fuel supply hose as connecting to the “stock” of the gun instead of angling the bottom or some such, both would be used in the same stance - as if using a leaf blower.

TOTALLY INTENTIONAL

Playing around with an 8-bit filter a friend wrote. Groovy, eh?

Seafood stir-fry I cooked, Dad’s recipe
I cook all the time, just thought to take a photo of something this weekend.

I hate tea.
