Avatar upload problem

I found that pointing the custom avatar section in the user control panel to a URL did not work. It gave some error about not being able to write to a temporary directory. Using the direct upload from my PC did work, though, I think

Was it a .gif?

Yes, it was a .GIF. I uploaded the identical file with the direct upload mechanism.

Well, no big deal  It has a trivial work-around. Just thought I’d report it, since there’s a forum for the purpose.

this is a server related issue and shall be fixed real soon.
