I feel bad downloading these pics, BUT I CAN’T WAIT ANY LONGER! They’re right there, I can’t ignore them. I’d love to have experienced all this stuff the first time rather than seeing it, but I can’t go on without some kind of notification of progress, and this, is it. I’m sorry. I’ll try rationing these images.
Well, I expected it to look better.
Hmmm, there is one image that says “image not found(or removed by request)”. Maybe something big?
Anyway, they can delete teh pis from teh interwebz but not from my HDD
That’s probably why they’re taking them down. With being so close to done, they’re worried about negative feedback. That’s the only reason I can think of.
Agree.
If you look at this picture:
https://www.blackmesasource.com/media/c1a0_release11_003.jpg
and the second one from the first leaked page, you can see major model differences. The official pics has way more details
It’s their work. If they don’t want you to see it it’s up to them.
Looks 90% complete, 95% as wishful thinking. Considering it’s been roughly 68 months from January '05 that means the mod will come out in roughly… 6.8/3.4, ~5.3 months. Sigh Seeya in Early 2011 Black Mesa… :meh:
PS: For those who can’t stand it, Google is your friend.
Specifically advanced search.
24 hrs.
Catz (Or someone else), you didn’t need to delete my post. D:
You only needed to remove the quote from it. :3
Okay, what’s circled in red is not present in the leaked pics:
https://a.imageshack.us/img256/9199/c1a0release11003.jpg
^That is the original pic, so no leaks posted. I’ll analyze the rest of the pics
Presumably that was part of the scaling down the detail to fit within Source’s limits.
Also, I’ve seen a couple, but refuse to look at any more in order to better the surprise, etc.
Not only the models, but the textures seem lower quality than the official pics. Also the volumetric lightning (sun rays) looks nothing like this pic:
https://www.blackmesasource.com/media/thumbs/c0a0_release12_003.jpg
Also, in this scene:
https://www.blackmesasource.com/media/c0a0_release12_004.jpg
the water is gone. Only plain ground.
After seeing the leaked pictures, I really can’t blame the devs for wanting the stuff taken down. Some of it was pretty crummy.
Could we get some official word on the PC the screenshots were taken on?
I heard it was some shitty one.
Meh, I don’t want Half Life - Crysis Edition,so the actual game(considering that actually it’s not finished) look amazing compared to the original one.
No kidding.
I really doubt the images represent what the mod will be like.
I’m waiting for black mesa for the mod, not graphics.
As long as it doesn’t look shit and the world isn’t brown then I’m happy, I worry that the people who are telling us they are crap are making the developers nervous or upset and may even risk the mod being cancelled out of depression (Like HL2 almost was when that leaked).
Oh god;
kupocake of kotaku says:
"2004: A mod team decides that a six year old game looks six years out of date.
2010: A mod in development for six years looks [your comment here]
Just saying."
:’(
I really hope the computer couldn’t handle the all of Black Mesa’s glory, and even so the modders shouldn’t delay it because of it. If it looks the same as the screenshots show, it’s still amazing.
PS:https://kotaku.com/comment/28420139/ I agree entirely, if the devs would have updated once in a while I would stand not looking at these, the devs should have taken after Bungie with their weekly updates, but bi-monthly, including the spoiler warnings. Not providing ANY info will starve the community. The commenter is self describable harsh, but they’re right.
I will not search for the pics. I will not search for the pics. I will not search for the pics. I will not opens google and begins to type “Black Mesa” then realizes what he’s doing, pulls out the power cord from the back of the PC and sits in the corner rocking back and forth sobbing quietly.
well while i will admit i’ve seen leaked pics. I found them to be amazingly good i was stunned but anyway if i see those pics on the internet i will report them to the devs
