Ask a Tarantula Owner

make sure you have enough dark places in your house?

In the wild, larger species of tarantula have been seen feeding on rodents, lizards, bats and even deadly venomous snakes.” - Wikipedia

Did you just quote your own post? :brow:

… with reason of course.

Yes I have a lovely nap over the weekend

Locusts

My one no, as was stated in this thread by others, larger species do.

They would tie you up then force you to watch your family suffer

how can you administer medication on her? If she gets sick, how do you recognize it and how do you proceed with that?

Stuff a pill in a locust.

I hate spiders :stuck_out_tongue:

Can a tarantula ever be ‘tamed’? I always hear of people getting the hairs flicked at them

Why would you hate spiders? They’re awesome.

Those people probably did something something wrong. It sometimes depends on what species you’ve got, some are more aggressive than others.

I think they’re fascinating creatures, but I have a phobia which by definition is an irrational fear; I have no idea why :stuck_out_tongue:

Kinda sucks, I envy people that can pick up spiders like they’re nothing

Really, I don’t know if I must answer to this.

I literally just checked it with google translate.

Is your tarantula able to bite?

Tarantulas scare the shite out of me. And they kind of look like Sovereign from Mass Effect…

People fear what they don’t understand. Once you know Tarantula’s they are badass and cuter than cats (no rly).

Something interesting for tarantula fans:

Basically, they’ve discovered that tarantulas eject silk from their feet to help them grip onto surfaces. It’s always been a mystery, as they’re too big to support their own weight.

Apparently they’re delicate and can’t survive much of a fall, which I never knew :stuck_out_tongue:
