I’m not assuming he represents all jews of the world, but people like assasin give me migraines and I do not enjoy migraines
I think that circumcision is the No.1 reason for the middle east conflict. Seriously I do. I think that you should not hurt the body as methodically as muslims and Jews do. It is a trauma that often will show itself psychologically.
But maybe I am just stoned right now…
It’s not a subject I talk about much, but I was circumcised at a very young age; I am not Jewish, I am not Christian, I am not Muslim, but for some reason, I was circumcised. I never broached the subject to my parents so I don’t really know the particulars but based upon what I was told while I was a child, I had “godparents” and perhaps they requested it. I don’t know. I was also baptized.
And still I became an atheist. Maybe there’s conflicting signals here.
Hmm, and you are not a fanatic either. Forget my crappy theory, about cricumcision and fanatism. Anyway see you all in a week. Craploads of work atm.
What do you think about Jesus?
Well, I don’t know that much about other hells so forgive me if i make assumptions. If you’re thinking of hell as a place bad people get punished, then yes we do have hell. But unlike christians we accept that people can repent after they die, and god will forgive them.
If people have been bad but have potential for good, they are punished for a maximum of a year in a place called gehinom. But this doesn’t have the physical side of christians’ fire and pitchforks, it’s more of a manical form of guilt and depression within the conscience. You’re meant to reflect on your life, so more than anything it’s like purgatory. In a way it’s more of you judging yourself internally and accepting you mistakes.
Only truly evil people suffer for eternity, such as the Pharoax from the jewish exodus and Hitler.
This kinda ties in with Dead Phils’ question. Although I know the scripts, I am culturally jewish more than religiously. My parents and local Rabbi know this and embrace it, knowing you can be forgiven whenever stops your faith existing purely out of fear, and means I can make educated decisions throughout life.
Just like with every religion, there are loadssa of options about the future state of the religion. I have always been taught not to think of the Messiah and some physical person as that can be deceptive and people such. Instead we are hoping for a form of revolution, where Jews everywhere can move back to the Holy Land and the world will be at peace.
Certainly. I beleive the only thing stopping that at the moment is pressure from Iran and the dire economic situation in the Westbank. Unfortunately, as Jerusalem is third most important city in Islam (after Mecca and Medina) there will never be a perpetual peace aslong as muslim fanatics make plans to ‘liberate’ the city.
Did you know that the Egyptians never systematically enslaved jews to build their pyramids, like it’s described in the old testament?
That’s like saying is a make a fellow do the righty can. really there’s no point in asking me to explain apparent fallacies in the scriptures, otherwise this will simply turn into a yoyo’ing between holes in my literature and in science,
since this is also covered in the ask a christian thread i ask you to take that kinda talk there, unless it directly relates to jewry.
(but to answer your question, no i didn’t know that, but i promise i’ll look into it)
Err, I thought that this was directly related to Judaism and not so much Christianity.
is ur penis small
idk if anyone has asked
wait are you an ethnic jew
if not disregard
Define small first.
it’s more like asking you a straight-forward question (to which the answer is no, apparently)
also i’d think supposed systematic slavery of jews who are then freed by another jew directly relates to jewry
anything under 6
Why are you people all such greedy basterds?
I doubt he would answer that correctly if he was that small. He would probably try to go for width.
I don’t know why I’m bothering to comment on an internet forum about something so important to me, but I feel I can shed some light on this little shindig.
There’s nothing about Jews building pyramids in the Torah- you’ve got your timelines mixed up (pyramids were build around 2500-1800 BCE, Exodus supposedly happened around 1500-1200 BCE). There is, however, a book pretty much dedicated to the bondage and liberation of the Israelites called Exodus.
Whether or not it happened is largely immaterial to non-Orthodox folk. The Torah is meant to be an overlay to our modern lives and is meant to help us better understand ourselves and the world as we know it.
Having said that, there is no archeological evidence either way that the Israelites were ever enslaved in Egypt. That does not preclude the possibility, however; as Dr. Richard Freund, a prominent archeologist and scholar on the Middle East, has shown, there are entire conquered civilizations that have been hidden by the Egyptians due to an embarrassing history.
Think about it this way: those who inscribed on tombs inscribed the important and successful events of the past. Why would they describe a massive exodus of their slaves from their control? Ancient Egyptians had hidden other failures in the past this way, and they may have done similarly with the Israelites.
But, like I said, that’s largely immaterial.
Egyptians may not have chronicled the alleged exodus, but they weren’t the only ones chronicling things at the time.
What evidence is there, beyond the book of Exodus in the Bible, that it happened?
First, theres no muthaphukin’ bagels in your survey! WTF dude, you claim to be jewish yet there is no mention of boiled doughy goodness, or smoked fish for that matter.
Second, I commend your bravery for putting this thread up due to the rampant anti-semmitism on the internet.
Third, how old were you when
a: you were given your bag of jew gold?
b: given an active stake in the world bank?
what’s your thought on Islam ?
There may or may not be- I’m just saying absence of proof is not proof of absence. And, again, I’m not saying it did or didn’t happen because that’s completely irrelevant to the story’s meaning and purpose.
I always love this question mostly because I’d love for it to be true- I could use the cash. Also, I like the bagel’s addition
