[ARG] The Pizza Code Mystery

Wow… this appears to be one hell of a complex ARG, above Valve ones

Well this is in just one game so Potatoes has that above it. Let’s just hope this one has a better reward than Portal 2 releasing a day early.

edit: 1 post? I could have sworn that I’ve posted before here. oh well back to lurking.

As a Christian that Psalm 118 bit intrigued me since i have a Bible on my laptop I checked it out.

The only stone mentioned is in fact-

(Ps 118:22 [ESV])
The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.

Which is a reference to Jesus Christ.

Just thought I’d share. This is a very interesting thread and I’m certainly following it closely.

Someone was skimming. :hmph:

Intriguing I didn’t see that anywhere…and also I’ve been reading every post because I’m horrible at ARG’s but love keeping track of people who aren’t.

Yeah, that’s what they said on the wiki page. It was according to them also a reference to the Philosopher’s Stone, which in a christian myth contains the soul of Christ.

The sample crystal that sets off the Resonance Cascade?

The description fits. As said, could be a reference, could be a part of the mystery.

On that note, didn’t one of the computer screens somewhere in the game (I seem to recall it being in a scientist’s office) have a screenshot of hammer with the test chamber map open on it? Could be a further hint to pointing to the test chamber. Damn, wish I could remember where that screen was…

I remember there being a wireframe model of the testchamber on the monitor next to the button you press to start the rotors. It may have been re-used somewhere…

This one? Apparently it’s in the Laser area in QE. (I don’t know exactly where, this isn’t my screenshot)

I’m a christian, and not only have I never heard of this myth, it’s completely ridiculous.

Actually chaotic, that’s in Dr Horns office in optronics. The one I’m thinking of is definatly the same type of thing, but the displayed map is for sure the test chamber.

@GalaxySwift
The screen your talking about is actually a monitor viewing the control room.

Interestingly, after noclipping around the test chamber, I ran into what looks like a small room directly below the lift that brings up the sample. In there is some kind of projector-type screen; used for the film grain effect on the control room monitor, or something else? Anyone got any insight?

It’s in Dr. Horn’s hut, apparently

Ya, I can confirm that Xappy. Thanks for the reminder.

We really have hit a brick wall, haven’t we? Nothing has happened for ages now.

If by ages you mean hours.

That’s Raminator’s computer, the offices on the opposite side from Horn’s. At first glance it appears to be when you pop up to the surface for a moment in We’ve Got Hostiles…

And while it likely just another unrelated easter egg, someone wanna go check that area out?

The whiteboard in AM with the diagram of the sample might be worth reinspecting.

But I’m horrible at this kind of stuff, so I wouldn’t be able to find any useful information from it whether it’s there or not.

Something I just found in the first part of QE in one of the labs:

One of the whiteboards depicts a few images of snarks–written in red and encased in two lines (like a lot of Horn’s other writings) is “The snark was a boojum”

This is a direct reference to “The Hunting of the Snark” poem by Lewis Carrol. Still investigating if / how this is related to the ARG. Screenshot below.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
