[ARG] The Pizza Code Mystery

21 to 1
Is it just coincidence that outer circle on pizza has 21 salami slices and circles end with one slice in the middle? Like 21 16 10 5 1

It’s illogical to try and place emphasis on solving a puzzle based on the location of the pizzas. That scenario would entail a detailed plan for numerous people to place each pizza in a precise location in order for all of them to create a pattern that make sense to solving a puzzle that they don’t even know exists. There’s simply no logic behind that.

If you are talking about multiple pizza locations scattered across multiple maps, then yes, I agree. It would probably be a logistical nightmare. And we know from previous efforts to create a complete overview map of the Black Mesa Research Facility that the maps don’t quite line up or make sense spacially if you try to stitch them together. Therefore, I think, creating a pattern that stretches across multiple maps would be next to impossible.

On the other hand, if we are dealing with isolated cases where we have a cluster (or array) of 10 pizzas, placed in what may or may not be a peculiar looking pattern, located within an isolated area in one particular map (background12), and similarly, a cluster of 11 “The Pizza is a LIE!” graffiti on a single wall in another map (background10), then I think it warrants at least some investigation.

What prompted me to create the charts was just to demonstrate a possible better way of looking at it instead of working with overview screenshots of the two pizza and graffiti clusters (or arrays), and to take another look to see if we might have overlooked something there. (I didn’t chart the array of six “The Pizza is a LIE!” graffiti in the background14 map since they look too neatly arranged into a 3 by 2 matrix and the items were packed much closer together, I think, than in the two other clusters.) If these two patterns are meant to be composited on top of each other, one problem we face is that there are no obvious reference points that can tell us how to position them in relation to one another.

All said and done, most if not all the original pizza locations have survived and remained constant, from the mod release to the original Steam release, and throughout all the updates up to the current Steam release version, with the only difference being more pizza locations, most of which were introduced in the original Steam release.

Simple question: despite this whole thing being known as the “Pizza mystery”, and many people being clued into its existance due to the random pizza (and graffiti) appearances, plus some clues / story bits referring to pizza in some way… did any of the puzzles so far actually get solved through anything pizza-related?

I’m not saying it’s necessary that the theme is actually involved in the solution(s). For instance, most of the (Portal 2) Potato ARG had nothing to do with actual potatoes. But I’m with Flavrans when he says it seems odd to suggest that we have all these pizzas, but we’re not supposed to do anything with them.

The thing is: I’m utterly stumped as to what it is we should do with them.

The simple answer is yes. One puzzle—IRC clue 5—was solved through the use of the word “pizza”, and that was because the actual solution contained the word “pizzas”. However, it could have been solved in any number of ways that didn’t involve the use of the word “pizza”, but that’s how it was solved.

As for all the pizzas and graffiti, I’m not really sure they are anything more than “easter eggs” that play into the theme of the ARG. A significant number of them were added in the Steam release, and some were added in subsequent updates, like the STU update. So, if it’s true that the HALOS code puzzle was solvable with what we had pre Steam release, then they probably don’t play a part in the solving of that puzzle. The problem is that, at some point, we started to shift into the belief that more clues would drop when the time was right, and as a result of that we keep looking at everything and anything new with a suspicious eye, in the hopes that there might be a clue in there somewhere.

There’s also the question whether or not multiple paths of the ARG exist.

Anyone try using the hex code in dev console at the end?

They look to be album covers

Queen - Queen II
David Bowie - Aladdin Sane

The third one i cant tell at the moment.

The 4th looks to be the curvature of the Earth shot from space

EDIT - long shot but that 4th picture could be referencing to HALO ( not the game lol ) as in the Halo of the Earth, which happens when the sun is obstructed by the earth.

I’m old, the 3rd pic is elvis, the sun sessions. the 4th pic, it looks like an image from a movie, I want to say independence day, or aliens, something like that, ill keep looking

as for the first 3, queen, the singers name was freddy mercury, the 2nd is when bowie was just ending as the character Ziggy stardust, 3rd, the sun sessions…

Mercury (Queen), Bowie (Mars or maybe the planet after Mars since Alladin was released after Ziggy Stardust) , Elvis (Sun) and uknown planet.
Seemed like Earth to me but i guess i’m wrong.
Also seems like every album was RELEASED in the 70s.

looks like earth to me, but unknown at the moment, ill find it…since the rest are album covers, ill start there

The stuff i found unfortunately are not from the 70s.
First picture i found :

https://albumartexchange.com/coverart/gallery/lt/ltjbukem_logicalprogression_6451.jpg (lacks the stars)

2nd :

https://f4.bcbits.com/img/a3066308375_10.jpg (still far away from our puzzle picture since this cover is a drawing)

3rd (and closest) :

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/fc/Second_sighting_album_cover.jpg (if you removed the logo it could be this , but it was not released in the 70s…)

Keep in mind that the images are from a twitter account that is considered to be a completely separate ARG, even was mentioned in its own thread.

Here’s a picture from the film “Aliens” :

Suspicious changes have been made to the wiki. I’m in the process of trying to put a list together of all of them.
Here’s a start:

Changes: The Pizza Code Mystery ARG Wiki
[/size]
https://thepizzaisalie.wikia.com/wiki/The_Pizza_Code_Mystery_ARG_Wiki?oldid=5328

Added the following :
quod coronae ubique vivereergo non credidistis illieum persequimur me,auxilium postulonon intellegere Latinamobsecro, quia caritas Deiadiuva me
sunt persequimur eumadiuvent eum
salvum illum

Which google translator interprets as
The halos alive him are chasing me, then did ye not then believe him? The fact that crowns him chasing me everywhere to live I need help to understand Latin please help me, because God are chasing him, help him save him.
Added the following:
“iungo Valyria” interprets as “connect Valyria” (Google tells me that Valyria is a minecraft server located in the United Kingdom)
“Rubrum quaerere Gallo” interprets as “Red Rooster search”
“RSPS” Is this an acronym for RuneScape private server???

Changed the word Hex to HEx
Changed the word entirely to entireLy
Changed the word possibly to Possibly

Capitalized letters spell HELP

Changes: The Halos Theory

https://thepizzaisalie.wikia.com/wiki/The_HALOS_Theory?diff=prev&oldid=5330

Added the latin word “vivit”. Translates to “lives” (now it reads as Halos Lives)

An entirely new category has been added named “Gallo Rubrum” (Red Rooster)

I will definitely take a look at all of these things, but the first thing that pops out to me are the multiple instances of the color red:

“Valyria” – If it’s related to Game of Thrones, then it has to do with Old Valyria which, in terms of the series, means fire or red.

“Red Rooster search” – Given.

“Gallo Rubrum” – Google search popped up a whole group of pictures that show red-colored trees and berries. The rubrum itself may refer to the “Acer rubrum” or red maple.

It could just be a coincidence, but it could also point to a red herring somewhere. Is it possible we’ve been following one this whole time, and this is a hint as to that fact? Just a theory.

I’ll dig deeper.

EDIT: Also, Gallo is mentioned twice. Could it refer to this site: https://www.galloimages.co.za/ ? It’s the first one that pops up for me in Google when I search “Gallo Rubrum.” Perhaps we need to find an image.

Interesting, we now have two references to plants/trees–the Gallo rubrum (red maple) and the red rooster is a type of grass (carex buchananii).

EDIT 2: I think the little lines interspersed throughout the translated verse are references to the “King James Bible”–such as this here:

“Jesus’ Authority Challenged
(Mark 11:27-33; Luke 20:1-8)
23And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority? 24And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things. 25The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him? 26But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet. 27And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.”

Also, what’s up with this? "

With the structure of the text preserved:

Assuming the poster used Google translate to create the Latin text, I tried to “reverse translate” it by trial and error in order to find an English text that would translate back into the exact same Latin text:

about that red rooster search… I mentioned this a while back, one of the numbers on the boxes found throughout the game is the same number for gallus gallus…
The red junglefowl (Gallus gallus) is a tropicalmember of the family Phasianidae. It is the primary progenitor of the domestic chicken

What about the poster’s name A3476564B?
What type of script uses a 9 character alphanumeric code? Perhaps the name itself is a clue to what we should be looking for.

I’m wary of spending time with this because there is nothing at this stage that can prove its authenticity. Maybe we should ask Storm directly if he can confirm or deny his involvement in this latest incident on the wiki. Otherwise, we might be wasting our time on yet another troll, hoax or red herring. Unless, we want it to be a mystery and see if it leads somewhere, for lack of other things to puzzle ourselves with or investigate.

Started a new game last night, was looking around the offices at the very start of the game. I heard this, have not heard it before, also thought the floor tiles were odd looking too.
