[ARG] The Pizza Code Mystery

There you are! We need someone to organize all these damn codes.

Dr. Horn (Biodome) - 186759
Dr. Foreman (Biodome) - 384

Dr. Truman: Specimen ID: GG - 3883

Yeah, converting a decimal number to binary is easy. Converting a decimal stream, however, is not. Thatā€™s why I canā€™t try decoding it, and thatā€™s what I was asking for.

Yeah, and I found some interesting things, though nothing seems to be really relevant.

Brain Mod and Mad Robin for DRBONAMI
Bio Man for BONAMI
Test Of My for TOMYSFTE.

Test of my brain mod? lol

something I think might be part of this, I have noticed some key pads and elevator buttons in heavily out of place areas in the QE area. does this have anything to do with this (example in the room with the model plain there is one onto a filing cabinet.

I tried anagrams too, but nothing came up.

!

Someone check this out. Iā€™d do it myself, but yeahā€¦ No game ATM.

Yeah, i also saw the keypad above Dr. Horns filling cabinet. Its a wall mounted telecommunicator.

Just checked the shit out of it, even broke it down into pixels, and no clipped inside it to get warm. We need another lead.

Blast Pit? Stormseeker worked on Blast Pit.

I remember that, opposite the airlock to the generator area, there was another broken airlock with the door slightly ajar; maybe start there.

Itā€™s funny you say that, as iā€™m doing another play-through and JUST got done with that area. Given the thread hype, Iā€™ve been checking the shit out of everything, and checked that thoroughly, nothing there :frowning:

Why we donā€™t start checking the props either? Probally some of them can contain hidden info

Hmm. Do I recall anything else odd about Blast Pitā€¦?

Hey, wasnā€™t there a sealed-off control room right at the tram platform at the start?

I donā€™t know if this has been brought up yet, but just before you leave QE talk to the guard and keep pressing use on him, one of his lines of dialogue is ā€œBefore we leave, maybe we should stock up on some pizzaā€ does this mean after this you wont find any more clues?

No, but there was a control room you could actually enter.

I wonā€™t be back until late tomorrow, but those that canā€™t/wonā€™t play the game (yes, you) could keep themselves busy investigating better the clues we already have. For instance, we still donā€™t know how the SFTE or Dr. Bon Ami fit into all of this (or even if that part of the message is not just another puzzle - one that at least has letters, not numbers  ); the same goes for Victor and that coin (of George II?) in the SSTV picture. Weā€™ve done a great job exhausting what to do with the info we already have, so any extra info could mean the difference between being stuck and making progress.

do we have a solution for this yet?

Thinking on the ā€˜pig penā€™ idea I wondered if this was a common code, and the closest I could find was this - https://i43.tinypic.com/dxl095.jpg
The problem is this code doesnā€™t show the symbols so is either numerical or doesnā€™t contain any letters after I.
Also with the symbols being compressed together there is some ambiguity (the first symbol could either represent AE or AD)

so that gives me
ae/ad da/db if hi/ii gf gc af if hi/ii ei/fi ge/gd de/dd cf ge/gd cf hi/ii ee/fe/ed cf eh/eg/fh ie/he/hd ec/fc

addbifhigfgcafifiifigeddcfgecfhiedcfeghefc or (many) variations that spell nothing.

Numerically (1-9) we get 144196897673169699697544367536895436578563

My next thought was that it could be the same code just with the symbols removed to make it harder to decode, so the symbol for A could be an A, an J or an S, and so on.

That gave me some variation of the following letters:

addbifhigfgcafifiifigeddcfgecfhiedcfeghefc jmmkroqrpopljororrorpnmmlopnloqrnmlonpqnol svvt xz yxyusx x x ywvvuxywuxz wvuxwyzwxu

or alternates as described aboveā€¦

Ad Ds IX zI PO YL SF RO hI eI Ge De CF Ge CF hI ed CF fh ie eC e b i i f d d d i fe eg hd f

add six zip fgcafif hifi rip opljoro rig xyusx x hip opusfix

I am probably barking up the wrong tree but when I found it started with ADD SIX I figured it couldnā€™t hurt to keep trying.

Dont know if this has been already mentioned, but on Biodome floor 2 maps, it labels Lab D as lab B, and lab C as lab D

https://www.flickr.com/photos/87083972@N05/8001579721/

Anyone think that might be related, or simply a dev error?

Itā€™s been mentioned, although not sure if it holds any relevance. I want to go with dev error, but iā€™m just not sure.

Probably not relevant, but I found yet another Pizza message next to the logo for the Biodome Complex from QE.

Its through one of the locked doors on the way back from the surface.

I made binary files of the integers. Included in the zip is 3 files, using different word sizes for the values:

32bit padding (long)
24bit padding
16bit truncated (short)
blackmesa_arg_digits_binary.zip (1.13 KB)

Quick question: Which map is the second part of Questionable Ethics? First floor of Lab B.

Nevermind, alsoā€¦

[[[This is important text.

Actually, I just canā€™t think of anything notable to say, really. Which I guess is my fault. Everything is always my fault, after all!

285 + 252ā€¦
252 - 363
252 - 121

            2548258]]]

Mean anything?

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valveā€™s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
