There, I fixed it for you
Microsoft’s new product: HL3, not really??
It “catched my interest” that the code of the page “blog” shows a lot of programming code.
For example
or
On Mac I don’t have java script enabled
EDIT: JS enable. The same result
That’s just SharePoint code and CSS script. Nothing special there.
Yeah, that’s not relevant at all. That’s not even a coincidence.
What is this topic about? I don’t get it. What are you guys trying to find out? Some secrets of Black Mesa’s development / tools / what? Or some kind of easter eggs put by devs? And what’s the reward? LOL.
Thank you in advance.
It’s an ARG, or Alternate Reality Game. It’s a series of puzzles, codes, and challenges hidden throughout the game and its associated websites. Currently, we have a large-ish amount of information - blocks of unknown data, etc - and are mostly trying to determine if there’s a cryptographic meaning there, if one section of data at is the encryption key for another part.
I see. And what’s the purpose of this? Does someone get a reward as soon as he unlocks the secret(s)? Or it’s just a ‘mini-game’, for fun?
It’s fun, people are doing something they enjoy, that’s all ya really need.
So it’s like an easter egg, right? ARG = easter egg
[COLOR=‘Gray’]An easter egg is an intentional hidden message, inside joke, or feature in a work such as a computer program, web page, video game, television program, movie, book, or crossword.
Totally random thought while I was thinking about the ARG today at work:
Stormseeker almost always capitalizes “A LIE” when he writes, “The Pizza Is A LIE”.
Maybe the capitalization is meant to stress the importance of those last few letters. I remember someone posting that they wondered if the pizza was “ALIEN”; this was back when the ARG started and people were still coming up with random theories.
What if, however, it’s meant to mean the pizza is ALIVE? Maybe the pizza is the AI? Wouldn’t that be a kick in the teeth?
NOTE: This is more in the vein of humor rather than actual speculation, but you never know
I just wonder which person was the brain to make this ARG, cause those person of group of persons really had to gather alot of info to make this
Keep in mind the entire Portal 2 reveal ARG was made by one guy working out of his kitchen.
omg stormseeker just posted “Just me :freeman:” its probely an other hint!!!
Someone should break down each pixel of that smiley and see if there’s a hidden message in there somewhere.
Just a thought.
Who’s it?
I’m pretty sure somebody already tried and nothing came up. I’m out of ideas, even checked the dots on Crypt’s profile picture despite he’s probably not involved in the ARG. You never know…
I wish I could embed clues via bad gif compression artifacts.
on stormseeker’ steam page: https://steamcommunity.com/id/stormseeker/
I... C an't S trictly M emorise that, no >_>.
I really don’t think this is related to the ARG. But maybe someone can make something out of this.
CSM could be “Cubic Sieve Method” - but that would not be very helpful, would it?
It also might refer to “Cisco Security Manager”.
But then again it might as well be ICSM or no hint at all.
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
