Apprehension Framerate drop

Fairly hefty framerate drop in Apprehension, but only when looking in the direction of the skybox/helicopter. If I face the other way or stare at a wall it goes back up.
The rest of the game runs smooth as silk so far (and is awesome).

Edit: looks like it fixes itself after spending enough time in the area.

Edit: same problem occurs in the final sequence of Lambda Complex.

Its CPU issue game isn’t utilizing multiple cores properly
When it happens core1 usage skyrockets to full usage while other cores barely being used
