Anyone bothered by the increase of DURRR on this site?

I knew that things would change once the mod was released, but I never expected so much durrrr to occur.
Even oldies have turned into complete morons since the mod was released.

I’m mainly talking about the idiotic " needs changing" threads. Of course, some of them are pretty valid suggestions; but you have to admit that 90% of them are utterly retarded.

IQs were never majorly high here to begin with. Now I think they’ve dropped to an all time low.

So, I thought I’d go ahead and list some of the most stupid complaints/suggestions I’ve read so far;

One guy complained that there was too much deviation from the original. And I don’t just mean added bits of map, but the fact that they had changed anything at all (e.g. additional signs, vending machines, cars, cacti)

There was a mild amount of rage over the changing of the crowbar location.

Sorry Oldfag (you know who you are) but in-game cut scenes are just retarded. Valve went into great detail as to why they don’t use such scenes often in their games. Their reasons were very good. So why you’d want to break the pacing and immersion is beyond me.

The complaints about the tentacles have been dumb. A few people are genuinely upset that you have to run past them rather than crawl. Big deal.

there were people who are upset because those type of cacti don’t grow in new mexico and were suggesting replacement plants, instead of doing the work themselves and submitting it in the test chamber…

Also people who were actually spending 10 minutes trying to gib a security guard with a prop and then came here to demand that gibbing be removed

the barrel stackers who complain that they found a nodraw texture lol

The forums are definitely not like they used to be. Now there are like only a couple of threads I dare to click on in the new posts search and even those often tend to bring disappointment. Hopefully it’ll die down after a while.

yeah, that’s why I tend to stay away from “that” section of the forum. It’s worked so far.

I remember the good old days when the boards were just full of hatred directed at each other. Now the boards are just full of whining directed at the mod. Oh devs! Why did you spoil everything by releasing the mod? Couldn’t you have spent another 8 years making it?

Dotard is hardly an oldfag.

They attempted to use the same old gameplay mechanic, proven by the gigantic explosives-reserve box (and the “These things hear us” + “outerspace octopus” hints).

And it works to some degree.

But it doesn’t work for long because they’re tapping everywhere nonstop. It was so repetitive that they became intensely annoying to listen to. They’d tap randomly in HL1, too, but only amidst periodic respite. Running like a nancy was supposed to get you killed, not to be the only way to get through.

If Black Mesa were more realistic, I’d have waited the tentacles out until they starved to death (with all of that wasted energy, it wouldn’t have taken long). They are both bad gameplay + a reminder that you’re playing a game made by indie modders instead of a solid studio.

I crawled past the tentacles fine. :expressionless:

But anyway this isn’t the forum for that kind of discussion.

If things that happened on the internet bothered me, I think I’d be a very sad man.

^ This. Nicely put, Dr. Breen impersonator.

Remember when we could run idiots out of the forum who asked questions that had already been asked? I miss the old forum…

it will never be as bad as youtube

make sure to press “more”

What’s with the poll?

I agree with you guys, the forums where a much better place before release. :frowning:

who are you

miss how there were a total of 9 users

let’s do a post count contest

Who volunteers to count the posts made in ye olde archived Ladies Club?

nope, if I am #3 or 4(last I checked) from only posts made outside of the Ladies Club, then I have no idea how many times more posts there must be in here.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
