The trouble with this one is that it’s a fail-easy one. In other words, most achievements are things you can do, eventually, whereas that one is something you can never get if you mess up the first time.

epc fail guy- die by every enemy in the game

leethax- activate sv_cheats 1

of fu__- kill an objective critical scientist

take that smart ppl- kill every none mission critical scientist and gaurd

a gamer- spend one week playing tis game

day one- serviver the first 3 levels with out dieing

Also from the Facepunch thread.

Screw it I don’t want to start a stupid fight… No hard feelings?

If they include the achievement “Black Hawk Down”, I’ll eat my own hat.

I NEVER die.

believe me, everyone dies trying to never die.

di die and dye- die over 900 times

Houdini - Escape the trap the H.E.C.U set up for you. (The place with those closing walls)

Maybe as I’m not a console games player but I don’t understand the number of achievements which are just for getting to X point in the game (albeit dressed up with a fancy name). The kill X number of Y etc I can just about understand but why have an achievement for something you have to do anyway? Getting there in the first place should be achievement enough.

it’s called a trash compactor. but a good suggestion anyways

Except that if you don’t do it, the game ends. So you have to do it anyway. Why have an achievement for it?

That’s like:

“Let’s get started!” - Start playing the game.

“Ammo refill!” - Reload after shooting.

“Who’s the sheriff now?!” - Pick up a shotgun.

You get the idea. Uuuuuseless achievements.

Sadly nearly every game out has them, though.

like GTA 4 - “Fresh off the Boat” complete the first mission
or Battlefield: bad Company… where there’s a trophy for completing every mission.

You need a few of these “useless” achievements to get newbies into the achievement system. New players won’t realize there are achievements until this pops up. And finishing the game with 0 achievements makes you sad. If you atleast get a few on the first run, then you might feel a bigger need to complete more.
It’s a marketing-ish strategy :stuck_out_tongue:

^ beat me to it (c:

Unforseen Falls
Die of fall damage while heading to a mission-critical location, such as a hole leading to a loading screen.

I need a better name and shortened discription.

Ahem here I go to contribute;

Unforeseen ConseQuenches

  • Destroy the front panels of every (accessible) vending machine in the game.

Pardon me, forgot to knock
Open every door in the game. (obviously, that can be opened. This includes lockers, toilet doors etc.)

I thought it might be a change of pace from all the “Go here” achievements.

already said that. look back some pages.

Try to be more specific as to whom you are replying to. I assume it was the post directly above yours but…
