Achievement ideas

…that goes for everything in this thread.

oh I get it. sorry.

It would be actually quite opposite.

From the Facepunch thread

Bad Idea - Suggest an achievement that’s bad or has already been suggested

A think a lot of you guys got this one.

Bad Idea - Suggest an achievement that’s bad or has already been suggested

Yeay I both suggested a bad achievement and one that has already been suggested. :stuck_out_tongue:

Bright light fright - Don’t get hit by Nihilnths lightningballs.

Actually I like that first one.

(My first post here)

I personally wouldn’t want to see achievements that require you to kill members of the Black Mesa staff. It sort of detracts from players who like to play from the ‘light side’ point of view.

Honestly, having generic award for doing things you’re supposed to do anyway doesn’t make much sense (for example, an achievement for picking up the crowbar would be pretty pointless)

Usually achievements are the most satisfying when you actually have to do something that’s worth it, and it shouldn’t be the point of the game. In most games I play, the achievements I get are completely by accident, and are usually pretty amusing (Such as Battlefield: Bad Company’s destroy an entire forest achievement.)

Dude, There is a HL2 achivement to just get to the airboat.

Is this even possible?

Out of the Box - Don’t complete the game. Ever.

What the hell? - Crowbar 400,000 headcrabs.

only in the console versions. the PC version of HL2 & episode 1 have no achivements.

and I agree, there must be at least one or two compulsory achivements, otherwise it would be a bit too much of a challenge.

But they will…

power outage- find the off switch for the sentry gun in the first U shaped stair well.
(yes there is a switch to turn off that turret at least there is in hl1)

Just because Valve made it, doesn’t mean it’s a good achievement.

I’m telling Gabe you said that!

the gnome achievement sucked. Who wants to take that little bastard round for fun. Everyone could do it so it wasn’t a challenge. i think that was a valve ‘look at what you can do on the source engine’ moment.

I understand what you mean, but pretty much every XBox 360/PS3 game I can think of has at least two of those.

I can think of one. But that game sucked monkey balls.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
