HECU is a four letter acronym, the individual letters are pronounced I.E.
Eich,Eee,See,Yoo
Heh-coo OR eich-ee-see-you
Hence “an HECU” being just as correct as “a HECU”

Haha agreed. I personally pronounce it by each individual letter, rather than as a single word built from the acronym. Actually, I just call them the Marines.

I’m used to military acronyms being pronounced as words, AWOL being a good example.
I call 'em monster_human_grunt or hgrunts, but that’s just me. I don’t have an npc_human_grunt variety.
