It helped for me, I went into my task manager and switched HL2.exe to Above Normal or High priority.
Oh btw its a lil off topic but why wasn’t Barney in the beggining when you get off the tram? Or am I remembering HL1 wrong?
Because that’s not Barney. That never was.
Barney is the guy banging on the door at the start of Inbound. But even that isn’t completely canonical
I looked at the guard banging on the door during BM Inbound, using the “noclip” cheat. It wasn’t Barney either.
Because they wanted to avoid possible story conflicts with Blue Shift and future Half-Life canon.
But officially, the Devs label him as “Barney”. Besides, you can’t see his face anyway so making a new model would have been a waste of time.
Yeah, waste of resources and time I guess, but it would have been nice to see a “Barney” just for the nostalgia factor. He’s probably the second most iconic character figure (mmm… the Gman?) in the Half-Life universe, with Freeman, of course, being number one.
I want the Barney model.
