2010–2011 Middle East and North Africa protests

as you can see, protests and revolutions are happening all around the Arab world, including my country, what’s your thoughts on these matters ? do you support the people who have been oppressed by dictators for decades or do you stand against the Idea ?

This shit has been spreading too. There’ve been some small protests in North Vietnam of all places.

I’m happy that the people are finally taking action.

not only north afrika, the rest of africa is just not very interesting to the media

the signs are apparent! the downfalls of great empires, a dark shadow in the east, THE END IS NIGH!

i am sceptic about the situation down there. revolution, cool as it is, often “outdates” the revolutioners. before revolution is over the people who started it might see themselves with a new order they didn´t want. for example if some fundamental muslims take over control who think that freedom ain´t such a great thing after all.
i´m just exaggerating here, but you never know what you end up with when tearing down governments too fast.

It’s about time.

what the west don’t want, is people practicing Islam. sadly cause they’re very “scared” of them blowing shit up

The so called ‘invasion of Islam’ and terrorism is nothing but an illusion. The best way to control someone is through fear. And it has worked once again.

As far as the revolutions go, I support them.

So what countries have/had protests/revolutions?

Tunisia (started it all)
Egypt
Libya
Iraq
Oman
Bahrain
North Korea

Sudan, Zimbabwe, and probably some other African countries too.

Morocco has some as well, but nothing too big.

Tunis & Egypt won the Revolution but sadly in Libya there’s a Massacre, Gaddafi is insane and a really funny man, shit if you knew arabic and watched his recent interviews, I assure you you’ll Piss your pants laughing

usually translation occurs in the media, making it possible for others to understand it too :bulb:

I know, but if you understood the accent and the dialect you’ll find it more amusing :3

p.s why did you change your username ?

yeah, probably

and I half-jokingly asked for it to be changed, and Raminator did it :3

Why would Morocco have any protests or anything, they’re pretty liberal there, aren’t they?

Some dislike Mohammed VI, others praise him.

There were protests over there by both sides, and some Moroccans over here went to Brussels to QQ as well (silly, since they’re not in Morocco anymore, so whatever Mohammed VI does should have no effect in them).

Nothing major like I said, but who knows, it might ignite at some point.

Arab people trying to get there freedom from a governments that ruled them for more the 20 years.

euhm… okay?

Tbh I can’t really this being anything other than a very intricate move more their natural resources by both the west and fat-cat monopolists within the middle east, isn’t it funny that these protests happened overnight in predominantly muslims countries? I’m all up for give each individual as much democracy as they need (aslong as it doesnt take away from other peoples democracy), but the fact that most of the public in these countries as simply protesting instead of putting through reforms is ridiculous.

I hope they sort it out soon though, regardless of for what reasons, countless (Over 9,000) deaths have been caused and need to be stopped.
