Since we know that Xen is on the way and will be out at some point in the future, would the staff of the collective consider releasing the 2009 1 for 1 remake build of black mesa as a mod, like the 2012 cut or possibly as an add on for folks like me who bought the retail cut in 2015?

They will finish the game at their own pace (obvs.) but this isn’t about the retail masterpiece they are working on, this is about a version of the mod that was completed over half a decade ago.

The dev team has a lot on their plate right now, however when they are “done” with it, I highly doubt they are going to go back and revisit older versions.

How complete was that build anyway? Could you play from start to finish with all the level design intact?
I know the 2012 version went to where we are now with some noticeable missing areas like part of Surface tension but I don’t know about 2009 as all we had for that was a few leaks. What I do know is how many times the devs have stated they will not be going back and updating the free version do to how many engine changes they had to make which can’t be done with it.
