2001, A Space Odyssey Secret Soundtrack.

Apparently, Pink Floyd made Ummagumma, Meddle and Atom Heart Mother in a way that they could play during the entire movie and fit perfectly. Here is how it should be:

"Start the sync right at the beginning of the film’s Overture. Play the songs in the exact order listed below until the end of the movie. Some versions of the movie, such as the DVD version, have an Intermission in them. If it does, pause the music during the Intermission. (On the DVD version, the word Intermission appears on the screen for a short time, then the screen goes blank. Resume the music at this moment because the actual movie has restarted. On the VHS version, there is no Intermission, so there is no need to pause the music.) “Entr’ acte” appears on the screen in some versions just before the next scene. Music is playing in the movie at this time.

Has anyone ever tried this? Personally I’m gonna try it tomorrow. Do you think it was intended? Or is it just a coincidence? Discuss.

reminds me of the Wizard of Oz thing. You the one if you sync up Darkside of the Moon and Wizard of Oz they fit. but sounds interesting tell me if it works

I’ve never understood why Floyd did this, but hell, whatever. Still some pretty solid tunes.

That isnt a secret…

=\

Well, for me atleast…

What is a secret is that when played backwards, Bob Dylan’s entire discography brainwashes children into sodomizing their baby sister and worshiping the Devil.

Led Zep is the devil.

But I thought it sounded nice :frowning: . That’s why I act so strangely sometimes.

Anyway, I tried it. The timing is perfect, but the ambiance the tracks create is so weird, most of the time it doesn’t fit at all.

M’eh, even though it’s never mentioned, Echoes fits best with the opening of 2001: SO or even better, the end.

I heard its an urban legend.

Here are some other syncs.

I’m willing to bet you could do that with pretty much any movie if you tried hard enough.

I wouldn’t waste my time.

Sorta but it works first side of it on vinyl ends when the B&W ends. but for the most parts its the themes the scenes portray match with the songs in a way

Great Gig in the sky
best sync, IMO, works withBrain Damage
you can also find the full sync up in parts on youtube

ahh what youtube proves its fifteen parts like imonfire said about 2001 its the same some parts fit better than others.

Of course Pink Floyd themselves have said that its all coincidences.
