I mentioned it on the steam forums actually that it has only been recent that folks are getting smart and are starting to ghost the developers personal websites for more media. New? technically no. New to BM fans? AbsoFRICKENlutly!
I’m still trying to find out… What levels are these images from?
Very old iteration. If you notice the metadata of another pic with the same HUD, you’ll see:
File change date and time: 15:05, 3 August 2005
Author: Geronimous
Copyright holder: 2005 - Geronimous for Black Mesa: Source team
It looks like Power Up, at the top part of the generator.
I’m hoping that’s an insanely early revision of On a Rail.
:s hoots self:
Why not? :’( The plaid chairs, brown bricks, and tacky carpeting were awesome for the setting of offices in a former Cold War Missile base.
This one:
Where is it from, anyway?
I mean, I know it’s OC, but where in that chapter?
:[
Why was it changed?
any media showing the new soldiers. honestly, the old versions looked like dun heap. also, the female assassin has a giant head and a grotesquely malnourished frame. give her some meat. agile killers tend not to be anorexic, even if they’re female. they’ll probably have legs rather like that of a ballet dancer, gymnast or figure skater.
I’m sure a good reason, but IMO, the aesthetics of any non research critical sections (areas in BM they have no critical need to update over time, i.e. lounge areas, certain hallways, offices) should reflect the time period BM was built and furnished. I really those “50’s style” plaid chairs.
Of course, I don’t think we actually know when it was built, so its all up to speculation and artist creativity.
Well Office Complex was built some time during the Cold War, but now I want to know what Ram means by ‘not anymore’. I hope they kept those couches!
If you really don’t want those couches, I could come by and pick them up for you.
I’ve been needing some new furniture.
I found this for AREA 9 HUB:
https://half-life.wikia.com/wiki/Area_9_Central_Transit_Hub#Area_9_Central_Transit_Hub
So I guess it’s a new area.
Also, why does that picture remind me of de_prodigy?
Probably the warm lighting.
^that including similar environment. Minus the road, those stairs and turns reminds me of the hallways between CT spawn and the outdoor bunker.
This is the particular section that I associated it with. There are several similarities (train instead of road, stairs a bit deeper into the hall). Some details are interesting too, like the yellow warning line on the track and pipes in the hallway. And the map has the same industrial feeling.
But this is completely off-topic, I apologize.
You may think the head looks giant because of the positioning of the infrared lenses. I suppose her malnourished look could be attributed to that aerodynamically engineered composite bodysuit. IMO the need for more powerful, but perhaps less flexible legs, is negated due to the incredible maneuverability provided by those leg vaults.
I think its a fucking perfect model. lol
fugly maybe, but more of a reason to keep it…government has no taste lol
This has been posted in at least 3 different places now.
Indeed, and I’m holding in a few complaints… Would anyone mind if I mod the crowbar upon release into a machete so I can go Gordon Voorhees on the female scientists asses? Also, why the old, ugly appearances? Why can’t we have pretty scientists… (offer extends to males, why are there no He-man scientists?)
