My brother took an angel food cake recipe and added so much cinnamon to it that it looked like a chocolate cake. It wasn’t bad.
Now that pretty dam close too a spice cake as were gonna get, through some chilli into that and were cooking.
I once made Chilli/choc/ coffee flapjacks they were suprisingly good. dont think id make them again tho …

I doubt many people would have ever had the good fortune of popping into the village of Bakewell for a real one though… I do every few months and it is worth the hours drive 
Now out of the list, I think Battenberg and then plain cheesecake. I think Vanilla slices are pretty scrummy but there is no mention of a Boverian slice which is much nicer (and sicklier )
