The best idea as mentioned a few times on the forum is to just put BM out of your mind. Go play some other games and just forget about it entirely until one day you see a post on a tech blog saying it has been released.
This way you don’t get like the Gran Tourismo 5 people being disappointed year after year until it finally arrives. Valve’s first releases of their games have loads of bugs, BM will probably have quite a few.
I’d rather wait until beta testers have played through the game a number of times and fixes have been issued before playing.
It’s not likely to be coming this month and not next so that’s another 5 weeks. You just end up torturing yourself hoping for a release every month that comes along.
Even if the game is playable just now, it needs to be packaged in an installer and tested on a number of machine configs as well as testing the update process. Summer is holiday time so there is a chance more work will be done and it could be ready before the students etc working on it go back to uni around August/September but still, you will only be satisfied by the announcement of the release, not by the endless guesses and vague replies to them.
example 1 - summer of sadness:
disappointed BM fan: posts on bms.com is it coming this month?
random BM dev: Mmmmmaybe
disappointed BM fan: posts on bms.com is it coming this month?
random BM dev: Well it’s not out yet, that much we know
disappointed BM fan: posts on bms.com is it coming this month?
random BM dev: You posted this in the wrong forum
disappointed BM fan: posts on bms.com is it coming this month?
random BM dev: why not check our twitter feed that never gets updated any more?
disappointed BM fan: posts on bms.com is it coming this month?
random BM dev: it’ll be ready when it’s ready
disappointed BM fan: commits suicide :’(
example 2 - summer of love:
June: meet some girls, have some fun with the girls
July: go on a holiday, soak up some sun
August: Chill out, maybe do something productive. Maybe play some cool games that are out.
September: ooh notification of BM release on a tech blog
