At first I found the voice acting abit awkward, but the more I listened to it, the more I liked it. It reminds me of Metal Gear Solid, and that’s my favorite voice over work ever. I read peoples forum posts in Solid Snakes voice. :retard: It still needs radiochatter / static though, imo. And regarding the music, I got a Perfect Dark vibe from it. I thought it was pretty cool, it just felt out of place due to how abrupt and loud it was.
I like MGS1
I like MGS2
I like MGS3
Glad to see that shogun article is down.
What exactly happened? I remember someone saying that they said something in the comments but I forgot who it was. What did he say?
Because nobody gave a fuck apart from few odd ones led by xalener

Yeah, but isn’t that the alpha from like 2009 or something?
Hey dummy, read this…
I’m perfectly fine with the choice of music as well. What doesn’t feel right to me is that it continues on inside the building. It makes sense having a firefight out in the open, but as soon as you go inside its a switch to stealthier gameplay. I did notice the music quiets a bit, but the up tempo-ness of it doesn’t seem to fit.

I also just noticed how short and easy it is to get into the control room… what? Oh well.
Good job sir! Pat on the back
I think it’s the 2006 leak just fixed up or something. Anyway see you later starts playing fallout 2
Damn, so true!!
None of the music in Black Mesa, or in fact any Half-Life game so far, has used the theory of Intro, Loop, Ending (or Transition) that lots of AAA Games use by now. There’s really just a map trigger that starts playing an MP3 file all the way through.
Portal 2 was the first game I noticed to make a big change; in fact, it even tweaks the music when you’re flying through the air, and other dynamic things. But somehow I’m not even sure if Valve will consider things like that for Half-Life (Episode) 3.
i thought they sounded like Solid Snake. also I’m going to say something slightly off topic have you guy’s heard about source 2.
When I got to the website the comments weren’t showing, not sure if they disabled it or if I needed to be logged in to see them. The article is here though, the webpage screenshot widgetthing can be useful sometimes.
Jew Sex
So, like the intro to MGS3, then?
No thanks
IMHO the music is great, no need to change it.
Something in that music reminds me the first stages of good ol’ DOOM I & II.
Ah!! Memories…
I like the music, it has that strong bass and synth thing that I don’t know what exactly is that gives that sci-fi-ish Half Life feel, I think what made it sound unfitting was how bluntly it showed up, it seemed to jump out of nowhere with no build up, maybe make it quietly start right after you leave through that door near the two grunts and then rather quickly build up.
Still part of the group that didn’t care for the music. Peace out, stay black! Get bitches, fuck money! Two love!
EDIT: Not sure what came over me. So wait, just clarifying on something I just remembered, but was it a member of the team who gave the leaked video to ValveTime a couple days back?
wat
Also, the voice acting for the grunts in BMS and HL in that particular dialogue seems to be pretty much the same thing, what may have made BMS’s dialogue sound way too cheesy was the lack of the radio chatter thing whose name I forgot, might want to experiment with that, devs.
