Pro tip: Hookers are for sex, not car accidents.
I’m using a piece of shit bicycle I found on the street because my normal bike broke.
I crash my bike alot because I drive it at night too much, mostly on streets with no bike path, no sidewalk, no lights and cars parked in the middle of the road…
Do you live in war-torn afganistan?
No just suburb Montreal.
So thats a yeah then.
haha, only jokinnggggg
People actually have some concept of how to drive in Afghanistan.
Just moved into res today. I’m living with two guys who moved here from Africa and my mildly racist buddy.
This should be a sitcom.
Just got back from an overnight trip to Brussels with some mates. Oh man, the bars there are so awesome. Dilerium Cafe, speechless the drinks they have in there. Brewery tour too. Best thing I’ve done all summer.

re: pious bike ramblings ( @ raw_bean!) I’d happily cycle the 6 miles to and from work every day, if my only viable route didn’t feature 5 miles of 60MPH speed limit single carriageway fuckwittery… tried it once (well twice; to and from work) saw my life flash in front of my eyes far more times in that 40 minute span than I thought was possible. Given the choice between death and continuing to be a father to my children, I chose the latter, somewhat wussy but altogether less dead, option.
Also, Sersoft, do you actually own anything that you haven’t scrounged out of dumpsters… my mental image of you is of a teenager dressed in clothes-bank rejectamenta, sitting in front of your slightlydingedcostheyfelloffthebackoftheinternet PC monitors hacking away at a pair of poor unsuspecting 386 motherboards, trying to gussy them up to the capabilities of a Core2Duo… I’m sure it’s not true, but you don’t half witter on about crap you picked up from holes in the ground. purely an observation, of course
Finally, Psyborg, it does matter what you drive into walls. At any road speed, your chances of walking away (or being stretchered away and living to laugh about the time when you drove into a wall over a pint) are vastly improved if your crumple zone consists of 4 feet of car & engine, airbag, seatbelt pre-tensioners & an anti-submarining seat… as opposed to your face, or your arms, or even a biker’s skidlid. I should add that if you insist on driving into walls at 70 MPH, you’ll still be better protected from the impact in a car… however, human connective tissue can’t cope too well with stopping from 70-0 in 4 feet. You’ll still die because the acceleration forces involved will lethally relocate your internal organs, no matter how well protected you are.
no offense paddy, but that’s way better looking than your car. :3
and at the speed you’d be biking, you can stop faster than a car can and your collision with a wall, while painful, would probably not be serious. After biking to/from school for a year (about a mile ride) I’ve been hit by a car once and gone over the handlebars once. Neither were terrible, and both were arguably my fault. Got hit going past a blind side road too fast when I was late for school and half asleep (wasn’t serious, didn’t fall off the bike, just left a pretty impressive skid mark on the road) and the other one was at night when I was riding on a particularly potholed road in my town, which is notorious for having terrible road conditions. I hit a pothole, blew out my tire, went over the handlebars, faceplanted, and the bike landed on top of me. I got pretty scraped up, but it wasn’t too serious.
still confused why people were/are banned, but I’ll figure it out eventually.
Imonfire and Garthbartin turned a disagreement about a mod into a several page argument that involved them going hopelessly off-topic discussing how you define what ‘art’ is and throwing juvenile insults back and forth. They each made multiple infraction-worthy posts each, enough to earn a temp ban anyway, and rather than go through and give them those infractions individually I just hit them both with a single cumulative temp ban each and then deleted most of the mess.
On the one hand, if I’d been keeping up with the forums for the few days this was going on, they’d have probably got a warning and infraction each and then settled down. But I refuse to feel guilty if long-standing members aren’t able to follow even basic rules against flaming on their own for a few days without post-by-post moderation. They should have known better.
It seems weird to think we are calling them long standing members. But I guess they are in the longer set of members now.
Five minutes ago my computer was on for 75 days straight. YAY.
I’m sure your parents are pleased that you’ve wasted so much electricity.
Let’s waiste electricity!
Man I’d hate to be your parent.
