Guys, I accidentally my C:\ drive yesterday.
Some people might remember from BM chat that I said I was gonna get really high, well… I did, and I also got drunk, and when I came back home I tried to install a new OS and cleanup my files a little. I guess I passed out when windows failed to install because I was tired and was too fucked up to do anything anymore.
I woke up and my pc booted to “BOOTMGR not found” and after booting linux from my secondary drive, instead of my 500gb being filled up to the max like usually, I discovered the HDD freshly formatted and with 499GB free space. That’s right, all of my shit has been replaced with a fresh format and a clean (failed) install of windows 7 RTM… At that point I remembered what happened last night, but it was too late. I’m gonna spend the rest of today scanning the HDD for what’s left of my pathetic shit.
Ouch.
Anyway, Yeah that’s bad. You’re gonna crawl at that speed, your maximum internet speed is gonna go from about 1.5MB/s to about 0.05MB/s

Further explanation: I just wanted to get rid of a 15gb mac OS partition and make it one big drive, then install windows 7 (without formatting) I used Knoppix to resize my big partition and everything was cool but then windows 7 thought it was a good idea to format the drive without even asking me if I was sure, all I did was press “custom install” then “start” (I just pressed enter twice and it started installing itself on top of everything, my only hint was the free space unknown at the bottom of the screen)

I’m still gonna install windows 7, at least my HDD is gonna be clean, I’m currently copying the deleted files to my 200GB drive, I had to delete most of my movies to free up space.
I think you may find it had more to do with being drunk and high, than with any inherent failure on Microsoft’s part… I always make it a point never to do mission critical stuff when high/drunk/tired/recently deceased… I always make bad decisions in those states!
