Got the new core i5 system off the ground today, and after getting everything up and running I’ve hit the OC genie and got a nice 3.34GHz OC running. Testing stable so far…Maxing at 60C with the cooler I’ve got.

there’s only one i5, it’s at 2.6 ghz and puts you out $200 + mobo and ram
Only i5 clock speed is 2.66 ghz stock, and he got the same system as me, so in the range of $470-500 depending on the deal he got.
Also, how does the OC genie work? Just press the button, press + a couple times, then power up, test, then power down and fiddle some more?
How do you know if it’s not stable? BSOD or just really hot?

I paid $499 for the board, chip, ram and cooler. I got 200 bucks back from crap I had sitting around being sold.
The way you use the OC genie is that you turn off the computer. Press in the button. Power up. You’ll hear the machine power cycle a few times looking for stable clocks. Then it will full boot with a message saying the OC genie is active. Then it’s done.
To stress I use P95 which is currently stressing all cores…have reached 64C now…still well stable. After this I’m doing a memtest. After that I’m running a blend. Then a RTHDRIBL loop to make sure it can do GPU intensive stuff.
If anything fails, then she ain’t stable. So far it’s rock solid. P95 is only a couple hours in though. I like 8 hours minimum to declare stable.
Huh, I’ll try that out.
