Yeah I don’t expect him to get away. If he doesn’t get killed or imprisoned he’ll be psychologically defeated.
Right now, Walt might be the most tragic character of them all. He made deals with multiple devils, he turned INTO the devil, but now that he’s out his past mistakes still continue to haunt him. He’s tried desperately to move on in his last few months of life, but he keeps getting roped back in. It’s kind of like how Walt kept manipulating Jesse into sticking around despite how it would inevitably hurt him, except this is all Walt’s doing so the tragedy comes in the futility of him trying to do right but never seeming to escape his past rather than having a shitty lot in life and having nowhere else to turn.
At the start of this half of the season, I genuinely hated Walt. I hated how he manipulated others, I hated who he became during the first half of S5, and I hated him for whatever he might do in the future to bring ruin to those surrounding him. Now, seeing that he genuinely wanted out of the business (and even got out for a time) and really only put out a hit on Jesse in last ditch desperation after he kicked down his door and poured gasoline on the family rug (Even then, it took a myriad of continued threats for Walt to put the hit out to protect himself and his family, and even ended up calling it off (though, as I’ve said before, deals done with the devil are always end up being fulfilled)), I feel…well, I wouldn’t call it pity. I’m not sure what I would call it. But I know that he is learning his lesson and is about to be payed back in full with a heaping pile of tragedy.
It was pretty clear that he had a small man complex from the get go. It’s not really the family he ultimately cares about (well he does, but not nearly as much as he does about his own ‘loser’ tag) - it is his ‘empire business’ and power ego-stroking he was after since the very beginning. If it wasn’t for the weakness of his character, he would of probably been the Boss of Gray Matter/accepted the help of Elliot by the time the show started - but then it wouldn’t be called Breaking Bad.
This about sums it up for Walt.

Piece of shit needs to suffer for killing Mike. And Gus. Easily the two best badasses in a recent history of television.
P.S. Interestingly - I actually strongly considered Hank my fave character until Mike and Gus stormed in. That guy’s fucking awesome.
Listen “Rains of Castamere,” I’m real happy for you and Imma let you finish, but this episode of Breaking Bad was the best hour of television of ALL TIME!
I’m going to wait a bit before posting about it, but Jesus Christ, what an episode.
Yeah, it was pretty crazy. Everything’s winding down now. The next couple episodes should be entirely in the future.
Huh, Walt actually cleared Skyler’s ass out of prison.
Based on that intro, he probably planned it exactly that way. Lookin’ out for the family even after he’s been basically exiled.
Yeah, at first I thought he actually believed what he was saying, but then it became clear what he was doing.
The scene with the M4 may be Walt going to save Jesse, kill Todd and his family. Or maybe he’ll go after them out of revenge for Hank and for the rest of the money, and then discover they’re holding Jesse there, and then he’ll save him, or try at least.
Or maybe Jesse will free himself and do something to make Walt want to kill him.
Man, I can’t wait another week.
yeah…but this episode was devastating
:hmph:
don’t know what that one’s called, but i remembered wrong
the same thing you said + 56
Someone pointed this out to me but this episode has a perfect 10 on IMDB after a little over 9 thousand votes. I only checked the other episodes from this season but it has the most ratings and the highest score out of them all.
well…I think this episode should’ve been named “BREAKING BAD”
So, anyone else thinking old walt will be having a college reunion next weekend? And jesse might die horribly after a lifetime of poor decisions and bad luck, leaving a sour taste in your mouth?
He should have just gone to Alaska.
but the ratings, man
Excellent use of the opening theme at the end there
But now my hype level just blew off the charts
Man, those were the last people on my mind that could be making a comeback. Way to kick the dog.
30k votes and still a 10. Jesus, I wonder if that’s a record. At least as far as TV shows go.
