The Walter White Wacky Fun-time Thread!

Something needs to happen with Skylar, her performance is so over the top and i just hate her face if you get my drift!

Skyler does some stupid shit too, like losing all that money and having an affair, plus acting all weird in front of other people like she has something to hide

her attitude is either gonna change for the better or things are gonna get worse

I think Skyler’s conundrum is beginning to parallel Walt’s at the end of season 4. Walt, having himself and his family with the threat of death hanging over them, is left with no other recourse (now that all of his cash is gone) than going after Gus. Whether or not this really was his only option is irrelevant; he believes it to be is only option, so he does it.

Now, in season 5, we see that Skyler realizes just how crazy and dangerous Walt has become. And now she’s the one that’s trapped and thinks she has no recourse other than to go after the big bad, which is now our good ol’ Heisenberg. Only she’s playing the long game, keeping the kids away and smoking around him whenever she gets the chance. If I were to speculate, I’m thinking she’ll try to resolve this nursing home car bomb style. At the end of the day, I think one of them will end up dead. Maybe both. Hell, maybe everyone. Walt and his kids watching Scarface an episode or two ago is teasing some serious fucking violence.

I don’t think Skyler is going to come around like Walt thinks she will. Skyler has been unique in that she’s pretty much the only one who can see through Walt’s bullshit (now that she knows pretty much exactly what’s going on), and I think that scares and frustrates him just as much as he scares and frustrates her. (I guess Mike is the only other one who sees through Walt’s game and knows he’s “tick-tick-ticking.”)

That last episode was fucking awesome, they really outdid themselves on it. And that last scene…shit is going to hit the fan next week. Anway, I would say Skyler is acting pretty normal for a person in her predicament. The man she is married to is not the same person as he was a year ago. She literally can’t tell anyone about Walt, or escape from him. She’s also implicated herself in money laundering, blackmail and fraud. Wouldn’t you feel somewhat fearful and scared in that situation?

of course, I wasn’t saying Skyler is unreasonable, but I do see how it could drive Walt over the edge

I dont think she should be mad at Walt at all… She has done some pretty nasty things to I don’t think she should be complaining as much! She was up for the whole thing when the money was good and the car wash was all her idea…She didn’t have to cheat and then believe that she hurt her lover that was all her and now she takes it out on Walt because what else can she do… anyone in there right mind would know in the first place that there would be consequences for COOKING meth and that there family could be in danger she should have disagreed at the first!.. Shes just not a great member of the cast anymore!

Ok, what

First of all, she’s more scared than she is angry. And she has every right to be scared AND angry. A multi-murdering meth mogul forced his way back into her home, bed, life, bringing some eminent danger with him, putter her and her children at risk. This particular maniac has no intentions of stopping production or going to the police, making reparations, or trying to save himself and his family. He’s a megalomaniac who craves power and refuses to relent. He’s not some family man cooking meth out of the goodness of his heart anymore. He hasn’t been for a while. He’s on a power trip, and he’s going to come down soon, and hard.

Skyler isn’t completely off the hook, she’s done bad stuff herself, but I’m tired of seeing people try to incriminate her as a despicable monster worse than Walt. I fucking love Walt/Heisenberg, but he’s a villain. Skyler’s a good(ish) gal caught up in some shit she’s not prepared for.

I don’t think you’ve been paying very close attention to the show if you think she was fine with Walt’s actions. She did disagree, remember? She was disgusted and tried to divorce him at the start of Season 3. But he forced his way back in. She can’t go to the police because of the potential blowback it would have on her and the family. She can’t up and leave because of the questions it would raise. She decides to be pragmatic and launder the money through the carwash hoping that Walt will stop cooking and they’ll go back to a normal life. She comes up with a pretty good cover story to explain where they had enough money to buy a carwash. I think she was initally seduced by this life of crime when she saw the huge duffel bag full of cash and decided to cook Ted’s books, but now she’s committed several indictable offences and trapped herself, she’s scared shitless. Look at it from her perspective, her husband is a murderer, drug manufacturer, criminal and liar. A year ago he was a spineless, meek chemistry teacher. I can’t understand why people still bash her so much.
You know it’s a good drama when the writers have the protagonist commit crime after crime, and they make you dislike his wife even when she’s the only one acting in a rational manner to his said actions.

^ this guy gets it

You know some bad shit is going to happen anyway after seeing the Season 5 cold open. Walt alone in a diner a year later, no wedding ring and using a fake identity. And buying a freaking M60. Let’s see people bash Skyler for protecting her kids after Walt’s actions get them all killed or in witness protection.

I remember seeing something that Vince said (spoiler-ish? I guess?)[COLOR=‘Black’] about Walt doing something soon that will make him irredeemable in the eyes of the viewers.

…Based on about 45% of the viewers I’ve spoken with, I’m not so sure that’ll do it.

Yeah I’ve read that. My prediction is [COLOR=‘Black’]Hank will discover the truth and Walt will have to silence him, or he’ll do something that will lead to the death of another member of his family. Either way, things aren’t going to end nicely.

Also, this fan video is amazing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdEtXfqi70U&feature=plcp

It’s obvious from that hate that I mentioned that a lot of people have huge problems ‘questioning’ any of the actions of certain male characters, in particular if they happen to be ‘badasses’, while they also have huge problems empathising with female characters, particularly if they have flaws and weaknesses that aren’t necessarily even harmful to others. I know people like this, they are as self-centered as Walt. Probably the same kind of guys who would believe themselves when they blame the girl if she wore sexy shoes… and got raped.

I mean who would ever question Dr. Cox in Scrubs even though he’s a completely narcissistic bastard with the tiny hint of a heart hidden somewhere, who also goes to a shrink? and who doesn’t hate Elliott because she has her own tantamount neuroses?

I don’t hate Skyler because Walt is some kind of white knight, no shit Walt is a bad guy. But Skyler is still a bitch and I hate her, and I think she is written to be hated. Sometimes writers make characters you love to hate.

Found this and loved it lol!

Interesting.

maybe he saw the show and decided to cook meth again

I liked Martha, disliked Rose and Donna.

On topic: is there a way to filter the methylamine? Walt was freaking out about a fly, but he doesn’t mind that some dirt/sand got in the tank?

Also Todd :hmph:
