The Surface Tension Update - Content Update 0.3.0

And second problem , grapichs problem in On a Rail chapter (map bm_c2a2b).

Awesome work all around, I know I’m going to have a great time restoring all the new topside areas.

put

-force_vendor_id 0x10DE -force_device_id 0x17C8

in the black mesa launch options to mimic a nvidia card, and you will get CSM’s

But what are the side effects of this?
Will this harm my GPU or anything else?

There is a slight possibility that you will go back in time, but no more so than if you were to Xerox a mirror or type Google into Google.

This can’t harm your computer or it’s components, it’s telling the game that you have an Nvidia GPU and to unlock all of the games graphics options.

This trick actually worked on my PC, however I did start to get an issue where some models get dark when I am a certain distance from them. The closer I get, the more they flicker, but not always. This only happens every now and then with random models, so it is tolerable. The only issue I am having with the CSM is the fact that when you aim down, the entire view model goes dark as if it is sticking into the ground. This makes the entire view model shaded, until I bring my crosshair back to the horizon. I am not sure if this is a common issue, but I hope that it is going to be resolved, just like I hope to get the CSM issue on AMD cards resolved.

Thanks to whoever figured out about the workaround command.

Nice work, I’ve played through the whole game again!
But I have a bad FPS about 30~40, sometimes below 30, in some of the new maps. Is it my own problem? Does anyone else have a very low FPS in some of the new STU maps?

I have problems with optimization on STU maps too. I think it’s caused by particle effects - there’s lots of smoke outside, lots of fire inside flammable gas building etc.

I assume that pieces of Xen are slowly creeping in with each update…

Just awesome work all around on the new update. Played through it a couple of times already, but found this right away on my first playthrough. Don’t think anyone here has mentioned it yet. Nice nod to the original creator of the mod expansion

^ This, I have definitely noticed how undetailed is the ground in that particular area and just wanted to point this out now too. I wonder what happened there.

he was talking about Kemp Air, cause Kemp is the last name of the developer of the STU mod version.

Hmmm, you know, as much as I like the design of the airport overall, that huge red “BLACK MESA” sign makes the place seem kind of… “mall-like” I guess would be the best term.

I don’t know, maybe those are actually a thing at isolated airports and serve some sort of navigational purpose, but I think it clashes with the institutional aesthetic of the rest of the facility.

Oh, thought that was just a note, and he was talking about what I said. Whatever, I think my point is still valid though.

It’s some kind of Area 51

Thanks a lot but… the Italian closed captions translation is not so good:

See my Bug report here:
Italian Closed Caption - does’t work correctly!

I hope you can fix it soon!
Thanks for all your work with this beautiful game!!!
