The Size of the Universe

Indeed, you are probably referring to the fact that we are made out of matter and require space and time in order to exist, all of our science and maths are based upon the workings of space and time and how matter reacts to it.

Another reason why I said science has its limitations.

Over 9000 Square KM.

But in all seriousness, space is a Mindfuck, we will probably never know if it is infinite or not.

Technically there is no logical way Science can be limited as “Science” is the combined knowledge of humanity based on empirical evidence, reasoning, and logic. Our knowledge of our Universe is tiny, yes, but the theoretical limit of our knowledge is only that of the universe. What I am saying is, if one is to say that anything is to EXIST, it must by our definition of existence be WITHIN the Universe. Anything outside of our Universe is then within the realm of nonexistence.

In addition to that, there is no way anyone can attempt to provide an argument to the existence of anything outside of, or BEFORE the Universe because any evidence or argument to that would be itself, based in the known Universe. To say there is something outside or before it would be arguing against reality itself.

Our knowledge of the Universe is and will always be ever-expanding, but our knowledge of what came before the Universe and what is outside of it will always be an ever present “I don’t know”.

The space dimensions are finite, we know this because we see galaxies moving away from eachother at insane speeds meaning the universe is indeed expanding (dark energy).
This also means that if you go back in time the universe was much smaller, at one point being a singularity of some sort (that’s where the Big Bang theory comes from).

someone on a another forum told me that universe is a bubble and it will explode when it is big enough and that is big bang again :S

lol, well the Big Bang wasn’t really an explosion at all with fire and shockwaves and all that - it’s just a view religious people use because they’re too lazy to actually study the theory instead of just assuming that “Big Bang” is an accurate name that represents the theory.

My job here is done

So then, what exactly IS big bang? IIRC, they said in Angels and Demons that they thought two particles collided at insane speeds creating an explosion. But if so, where did those paricles come from??? Maybe a guy in a distant future went back in time to watch the big bang and accidently caused it with stuff he had with him? Or what? The fuck?

I like that version the best :3

If something is growing then that means at one point in time it must have been smaller or infinitely small. This is not science-fiction; black holes have a gravitational singularity, a singularity can have an infinite density on an infinitely small scale. Space and time are so warped that the laws of nature don’t apply. The Big Bang theory suggest the universe started as a singularity and expanded to what it is now due to inflation.

There is only one known thing in the universe powerful enough to create a black hole: the explosion of a super massive star (not our Sun, which is only a small star relatively speaking).
What people said about CERN has certain truth, but artificial black holes would collapse in a billionth of a second after being formed (micro black holes).

To keep it short: the expansion of the universe makes it obvious that at one point in history the universe was compressed in an infinitely small singularity, a singularity that expanded due to inflation.

This sums it all up well.

Cool.

How can you break a finished combo?

we may never know…

I added a picture of Slowpoke with it. Someone must have deleted it. :fffuuu:

Even intelligent life might as well be a certainty. When you think of the odds that you are faced with when there are likely more planets in the universe than there would be grains of sand on Earth, you start to realise that it’s even a near certainty that there are creatures like us in terms of form and intelligence.

It would be so cool if they’d invent some sort of warp-engine-like technology before I die.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
