Funniest thing is even if there are any planets at a reasonable distance from us (~250.000 lightyears) with some sort of intelligent life form like ourselves, and they were to look at the Earth with a telescope, they wouldn’t be able to see us, since they’d be looking at the Earth from 250.000 years ago and humans didn’t even exist :frowning: .

Ahem the first Homo Sapiens originated around 200,000 years ago. If you consider ancestors with not even a fraction of our brain power like Erectus or Neanderthals humans, then you’re the one failing here :slight_smile: .

Current informational status on Neanderthals is that they were, in fact, not a different human race, but an entirely different species with different ancestors than us. Like, no interbreeding was possible with Cro Magnon humans. They were also said to have been more carnivorous than Cro Magnon people (Homo sapiens sapiens). At least that’s what I last read about it, and it was confirmed in a video documentary I saw last year on “phoenix” (an educational tv channel in Germany).

Actually, if I remember correctly, the Neanderthals were our ‘cousins,’ so to speak. We had common ancestors, but they were not our ancestors.
