It worked! I have successfully created a windows 8 bootable installation USB. It’s still warm.
Edit: Ahahah, but guess what fucking idiot forgot to buy the wireless adaptor?
Apparently I somehow didn’t install Windows 7 in UEFI mode when I put it on my SSD about two years ago, so I tried to install Manjaro in UEFI mode in another partition on the SSD and ended up destroying everything. There was no important data on the C drive, and it was coming time to get a fresh install of Windows anyway, so that’s okay. Windows is now reinstalled - as UEFI this time - and Manjaro is installing… I think. The installer is sort of just hanging there, not really giving me any indication that it’s working.
EDIT: Okay, it finished, and holy hell was it fast. It was super fast to boot from the thumb drive, too. I guess that’s Arch for you.
you can use an old laptop as a wireless card, just enable internet connection sharing on the laptop and connect it directly via ethernet to your desktop

Okay, complaining about someone totally different, i.e. someone who can actually fucking spell. So I’m supposed to go hiking tomorrow with someone I consider to be a good friend. She isn’t picking up her bloody phone, didn’t give me a time to meet, or a place. Even though tomorrow is about eight hours or so away.
I really hope her parents aren’t overprotective as fuck like my ex’s were.
