Cause working outside in 110 deg Fahrenheit isn’t fun.
I think I need to engage my heating system. I went to chew some gum and it started off crunchy (thermostat reads 49F).
My humble undershirt crackled with static electricity upon removing it, and I have virtually no body hair so there’s nothing to excuse that other than the fact I’m mutating/evolving.
Five days now, including Monday which although snowing was 40 degrees.
Okay, I think I’ve figured it out. I am not mutating… I am not developing some special resilience to the cold.
Instead, I had given six years of my youth for the simple chance to win a woman’s heart, and statistics went south, so on Saturday she ended up informimg me that she has been legally married. I must’ve been numb ever since.
Six years may seem like a lot, but I’m nearly two-of-them through already… And it was a reasonable gamble-- it was close to paying off, as she ended up marrying someone just like me– and when you actually love someone, you would give far more than six years of your life for a guaranty of eventual happiness.
I would save the earth again if I had the chance to do it for love.
You probably just have a static charge cause of where you work. As for cold resilience, that’s probably just in your head.

Getting tired of working on my school project. Producer keeps contacting me when I’m in the middle of doing something and asking me what I’m working on for the game. I’d like to say “Well, nothing, since I’ve implemented the next to no content we have and there’s still no gameplay code to make the level something that actually runs” but instead I just have to say “The first level”
And of course, I can’t get caught working on another project I’m actually still passionate about, because that’s time I could spend ‘working’ on the game.
Why not just say there’s nothing for you to do at the time?
I haven’t gotten to do so during 110, but I actually love the heat. I’d infinitely rather be hot and sweaty than cold and frozen and sniffling and goddammit it’s Hell.
Because “The game’s not done yet, so there must be something you can do.”
Even thought there isn’t, because I’m waiting for code so I can implement stuff. Somehow I don’t think he’ll see that as a valid reason, though. The excuse that I’m a level designer and the level and everything that goes in it is designed as far as it can be at this point won’t be a valid reason to start slacking off.
Even though he’s spent the greater portion of the last 3 weeks playing The Sims.
EDIT: And in this evening’s rage news, I made some mac and cheese, then put the last of my milk and butter into it. The milk was expired, so the entire pot was a write-off.
I don’t believe I have anything else that can be prepared in under 2 hours, since everything else is frozen.
Also as an aside, I keep googleing “for” when I go to access the forums because my browser keeps lagging out just long enough for the autocomplete to kick in.
I like Battlefield 3, but I find it just so fucking poorly designed in some areas.
I mean, your game is realistic enough for semi-proper bullet physics but not to give the motherfucking MANPADs their correct range? So all a pilot has to do is 1k strafing runs to be completely safe, even with flares. Oh and if you level up enough you get the smokey radar disruptor thingy which gives you even MORE time to evade SAMs, to the point that if you don’t have an equally good pilot then you’re fucked. The other team just doesn’t have to do anything except this one dude.
Whatever, I’ll play Insurgency instead.

People, if it was some dumb white racist pig like the rest of us privileged eurotrash supremacists that was going around stealing stuff with an indistinguishably real looking fake gun I’d say the Cop had full rights to put him down too.
I was under the impression that the riots weren’t so much about that particular incident, but that the result of much older tensions and social issues, and the shooting was just the catalyst for everything to finally boil over.
Also I’ve read plenty of reports about this incident and none of them have given any evidence at all that the kid who was shot was armed at the time.
It’s not about white supremacism; it’s just that I don’t think many people will agree with the idea of killing a whole town – not just the black population, mind you – because of the actions of some uncivilised idiots.

It’s a combination of things. You’re partially right, but Acade also brought up a valid point.
There are major cultural differences, apparently.
I work with a very diverse and intelligent group of Americans who have chosen to work on [or under] water, and of the only two African Americans in a sample size of 50 individuals, neither had heard of Woodstock. I took it for granted as common knowledge among all Americans.
It’s the way everything is construed. Obviously I don’t condone blowing up a town. But, (and you’ll notice that atleast two people seem to have taken that part seriously) the thing is if it was a white neighborhood, no one would think twice about someone saying something like that, but it’s not a white neighborhood, so it’s serious business. Same as a cop shooting someone who appears to be armed and has altercations with said officer. White kid does that? Who cares, (and honestly while it is a very sad situation it’s not and should not be considered police brutality) but as soon as it’s a black person, it’s racism and oppression.
The media are running with this one too just to cause as much chaos as possible. I’ve heard stories say that the “White police shoot black child who has a toy gun” When you find out after digging a little deeper that this was an 18 year old thief who had a replica weapon without any safety indicators having altercations with said officer. The media isn’t even trying to hide their brainwashing anymore, what with “Officer ruled not guilty after 9 whites in jury vote with only 3 blacks present.” The saddest thing is that people actually take this bullshit without giving any thought to it at all.
So this girl I know, who (after me being there for her for 2 and a half years and helping her with some serious shit) gotta boyfriend and suddenly cut me out of her life in January, decided recently to message me every few days like nothing happened and we’d been talking forever and such.
After bringing up said removal, she couldn’t say anything except “I’m sorry.” And “I didnt mean to.”
Because, that makes it aaaalllll better. So I told her I felt kinda fucked over and hurt because I had been there for her and she’d done this, knowing how I felt and how much she meant to me. Still, “I’m sorry.” And “I didnt mean to.”
And this is why I don’t trust people. Because they screw you in the worst ways and then act like it’s ok. And when you point out what happened, they either say “fuck you” or make up some bull excuse/ make some bull attempt to repair things.
I already wrote her off as gone. I already decided I hate her. She can try now, but I probably won’t care. I don’t hate people easily, but she hurt me on a personal level and in a way that was deep and she doesn’t deserve forgiveness for that. Not right now.
On the plus side, I feel kinda relieved that it’s no longer hanging over my head and making me feel bad. Now I know how much I matter to her, so I don’t hafta wait and see what will happen anymore cause I can just say deuces to the whole thing.
Also, my laptops a piece of shit, and it annoys me to no end. I want to shoot it. And burn the remains.
Edit: oh, and Ferguson is a shit storm. Honestly, if the world collapses and any sort of life changing event happens, it is going to be a race/civil war in the US a that will cause WW3 in its own way.

I had to deal with the same thing with my ex back in mid July. She cut me out of her life. I don’t blame her, but it still doesn’t change the fact that she practically betrayed & cheated on me. I don’t care what anyone says, there’s a fucking cooling off period before you go ahead and date someone else after a fucking break up when you were pretty damn close to begin with. Then she suddenly decides to try to waltz back into my life after a year of cutting off contact.
Being the nice guy I am, I decided to at least give her a chance, but I said flat out that it was on thin ice. That was a terrible idea. Her idiot of a boyfriend decided to be territorial and I wasn’t going to have any of it, so I bid them both good day and cut her out of my life for good. Needless to say my best (I should note that it’s not a he - it’s a she) friend tore me a new asshole later on for that.
It just came to bite me in the ass later. In your position I’d be very cautious and explain that “sorry” doesn’t cut it and that the relationship is on very thin ice if you want to give her a chance. Frankly I don’t think it’s a good idea to give her a chance, I got burned pretty bad when I did that myself. Just a word of advice, it’s your life however, so you can take it with a grain of salt or not act on it, your choice.
Nah she’s not getting anything out of me until SHE makes an effort. I’ve told her how I felt and that sorry isn’t cutting it. Tho she hasn’t made it abundantly obvious, her boyfriend is playing a large part in this. She brings him up every now and then when we’re talking, usually saying things like (when I send a funny picture that’s mildly crude) “Nathan’s getting grumpy, he saw that pic lol”. Tho I haven’t had a conversation that would involve joking in a few weeks, it happened periodically before.
