Yesterday, just before leaving work, I started a render of a 20 minute movie on at 1080p that needs to be shown on FESPA 2010 this Monday. AE estimated it would take an hour or 3 to render.
I arrived at work just now, awoke the computer, and I was greeted with the login screen. Upon logging back in, I see this systemtray popup: “Windows has successfully updated your system to improve security and performance and has been rebooted automatically” (or something similar to that)
Result: a 9 minute movie with artifacts and messed up colors :’(

I slept 12 motherfucking hours and I’m still tired as fuck. WHAT THE SHIT.
No, since creating, cutting, editing and rendering movies are only a small part of my job. And since I’m the only one that does (or can do, even) it, there’s no need for render farms.
Also, our IT does suck quite a bit.
