Got around to watching The Human Centipede. No where near as disturbing or scary as alarmists say, it was essentially a B-Movie with a good budget. The whole centipede concept does keep you interested throughout, which helps you ignore the appalling acting by the female leads, the lack of plot after the first hour and the half assed ending. 5/10, watch it out of interest but don’t expect a good film.
Good choice, Strangelove. I found it enjoyably chilling.
Miss March was surprisingly entertaining. The lesbians were especially entertaining, I loved how they were given a european techno-pop leitmotif. I find it surprising Trevor Moore doesn’t get around more, he worked brilliantly.
The Onion Movie.
Worst movie I’ve seen this year so far.
Damn really? is it different to their fake tv news stories cuz they are hilarious
Xmen
(Mystique - What I can I say… I have a thing for blue chicks - as long as they are still breathing that is…)
Hey Hurcle - How goes?
it’s really different - for the worse. the pace of the movie sucks, but that wouldn’t be a problem if it was funny. I only laughed once, maybe twice in the entire movie.
I miss this thread, I’m bringing it back.
Splice- There was some pretty fucked up freudian horror in there, if there was such a thing.
Teeth- Bad idea: watching it with girlfriend. She won’t stop making biting noises and making me think I’m going to get my penis bitten off.
Iron Man 2
Pretty good movie, the Iron Man movies have both been good, surprising since pretty much every other movie that comes out sucks badly.
Splice
I agree with Strangelove above. I expected it to be a full-on horror movie but it wasn’t. It was pretty scary still just because of the stuff that happens, though.
Shutter Island
VERY good movie. Pretty much every single part of the movie is flawless and the end is perfect, I love uncertain endings.
Seraphim Falls (Pierce Brosnan & Liam Neeson)
A Western short on dialogue and long on pomposity, is little more than an extended chase scene down a snow-filled mountaintop to a desert floor.
I think the only movie I’ve seen recently is The A-Team. I can’t judge it against the original series because I never watched it, but by itself it was a better-than-average action film. Lots of explosions and cool stunts, likable characters, and a pretty well done plot, although it was a bit confusing at times. And it has Liam Neeson in it, which is always a plus. If for no other reason I watched it for his performance. I could have done without Face’s stupid romance subplot though. Overall, 7/10, a good summer movie worth seeing.
Oh and I guess I saw Planet 51 too. It was a halfway decent way to tell an old story. I give that one maybe 6/10. Make that 5/10 - why didn’t the male aliens wear pants? This bothered me very much throughout the whole movie. I couldn’t stop thinking about why they wouldn’t have to wear pants and who in the creative process thought it would be a good idea to make them pantsless.
What Women Want. 8/10, would recommend.
The Lord of the Rings, the Return of the King.
Doesn’t really need an introduction.
I just saw From Dusk Till Dawn last night. ALL OF YOU NEED TO SEE THIS MOVIE. HOLY CRAP.
What, walking dongs?
I really liked how it started out. Then
Then
Also an excellent film to fall asleep watching really chilled out.
watched Mrs. Doubtfire the other day
Fucking hilarious
Don’t watch it if you don’t understand what a Divorce is.
Not quite…
And From Dusk Till Dawn was okay, the ending was awesome, as was the beginning, though the middle dipped a bit.
The Crazies. Pretty good movie even if the end was disappointing.
Evil Dead 2.
It kicked so much ass I kicked every other DVD out my door and cried of happiness knowing that if 2012 does come, Bruce Campbell will be our savior
I mean, It’s BRUCE FUCKING CAMPBELL killing DEMONS with a CHAINSAW HAND and SAWED OFF SHOTGUN
Its SWEET!
Starship Troopers 2 and 3.
And that’s all I have to say about that
