The Last Film You Saw.

Maybe I’m a little late to comment on this…but…what are you thinking?

The fourth was actually quite a good movie, it’s the fifth one people should stay away from.

So I’m watching TRON right now.

And I find out its got Dolby Digital 5.1 even though it’s ripped.

Is this awesome y/y?

I recently watched “Mirrors”, it was okay. 6/10.

So I watched “Children of Huang Shi” yesterday. Liked it, neat film, nice bitch.

I can’t tell if you’re kidding or not, but I’ll respond- the fourth was badly paced, the acting was very disconnected, Cedric Diggory’s death was basically an afterthought, Radcliffe Darth Vadered the hell out of his “NOOOOOOOOOOOO”, the plot developments were contrived (they were better in the book, but only slightly), and so on and so forth. I mean, the ridiculous muppet tops all the characters wore for that movie were one of the best parts, and that’s not exactly high praise.

By contrast, the fifth flowed really well, and was suitably dark for the material. It didn’t really work as well as the sixth did (though even that one started to fall apart towards the end), but at least it made sense as a fucking narrative.

The latest and sixth one is the best of all of them, though I’ll have to watch 3 again to remember why I liked it so much. The world felt much more like an actual physical location than a collection of greenscreen and CGI, the actors were allowed to actually act, and the hodgepodge of ridiculous romance stories nicely kept the mood from getting too black.

Anyway.

I’d say b

Saw GI Joe recently. It was better than I expected. I was thinking it was going to be something like Transformers 2 but it was MUCH better. I’d recommend it.

Both. I’ve been not digging Jack Lemmon up my entire life.

I wouldn’t have anywhere to put him, the decrepit exhumed bones of Buster Keaton and Greta Garbo are taking up all the guest bedrooms.

Wasn’t really a film, but I watched George Carlin’s ‘Life is worth Losing’ last night.

Buster Keaton!!? What a wonderful actor, I’m glad you’re accommodating him at your own expense.

Surprisingly related to that, the last film I saw was a silent film. Battleship Potemkin, of Eisenstein. It went along nicely, and didn’t slow down too much like some silent films do. (The ending felt perfectly timed.)

The edition I had, with some Shostakovich soundtrack I recognized from my music library, felt absolutely tense and epic toward the end when the ships converged, and for the first time I felt emotionally concerned with what would happen next in a movie. (Probably because I’d never bothered to read the real history before, and it was following a true-though-biased story. I really wanted the sailors to succeed, and this was a surprising response considering how very few individuals are named in the process.)

I’m currently watching A Scanner Darkly, and I must say I’m enjoying it!

Edit: Finished it. Awesomely-brilliant, although I don’t think I completely understand the end. (I watched it in English and sometimes I have hard time understanding some accents) [spoilers] So New Path was the “group of terrorists” who was producing and filling up the streets with D? And they addicted him to D on purpose? But why? And why the hell was he acting as if he was some kind of a slave, repeating everything everyone said? I mean, before he got in the “rehabilitation center” he was bonker, but not vegetable-like[/spoilers]

its been awhile since I watched it but my take wasSPOILER New Paths was not in cahoots with the police they were a third party like most drug rehab clinics it was his own fault for taking the drugs hence the whole argument about how he could of faked it and not swallowed the pill. But new Paths was using people who had become severely affected by D and using them because of their low mental state they wouldn’t run away as they were very complacent.SPOILER

and on topic I just watched The Big Labowski for a second time I love that movie the Coen brothers are good at what they do.

Thanks! I’m either gonna see Superbad or Push tonight. Maybe both.

Push is really good a lot better than I expected but of course I had just watched the god awful new street fighter movie the day before so its possible that was why.

and you really can’t go wrong with Superbad its just a good movie.

I just learned district B13 had a sequel. Will probably watch that if I don’t end up going to a club.

It’s out on DVD? Or at the movies?

I saw District 9 today and it was absolutely amazing. The best movie I’ve seen all year hands down and possibly one of the best Sci-Fi movie I’ve ever seen. The CGI for the aliens was fantastic and the mecha suit looked incredibly realistic. The alien weapons were awesome and their effects stunning, such as making people explode.

Throughout the film you grow to sympathize with the aliens as they’re treated so horribly by the humans. The ending is left open for a sequel, though I’m not sure if there will be. If there is I hope it’s as good as this was. Highly recommended .

I saw The Maltese Falcon (Bogart version). It was awesome.

Just finished pineapple express and its funny as hell.
