The European Union

“Federate with NSW? Those tossers will take away our banana plantation workers!”

I have no personal bond with my nationality. I’m a human that happens to live in an enclosed piece of land they dubbed Belgium. I couldn’t care less if Belgium ceased to exist in favor of a strong and unified nation.

We should leave the EU, save us loads of money each year, and we would get less immigration.

EDIT: I live in teh UK

I’m guessing you’re a member of the BNP.

no, I just think immigration should have a limit or we ashould have a system of immigration like Australia where you need to qualify with points.

For non-EU countries I think that should be true, but for EU citizens it’s their right to live and work in an EU country. Even if that means the UK.

One of the reasons for the EU is stability, to prevent a certain country from forming massive armies to go on a conquest to conquer to the world. :retard:

@Door:

Then we need a system of controlling the resources, either as a shared (almost socialist) system throughout the EU, or by limiting the population using an algorithm which depends upon the resources and GDP of said countries.

You appear to be confused. Australia’s immigration policy is like a reality TV game show. You manage to get through the Australian Navy Blockade and you WIN ASYLUM!

Each navy soldier you take out is one point?

No, each load of drugs and illegal catch you bring in adds to your score.

Sure, it’s a nice idea if you don’t go shoulder deep in corruption like the UN.

Nah, thats never happened in history.

In all honesty I think getting their ass kicked twice has taught them their lesson.

Yeah, those British bastards have nearly conquered the whole world already. Watch out for those Brits I tell you… watch the fuck out… :FFFUUU:

The French tried it too.

And the Portugese, Spanish, Belgians, Italians…

Actually, the Belgians didn’t… We’ve been subject to invasion very often (by the Dutch, for example, mere hours after declaring independence), and we apparently had plans to invade France at some point (but our king decided against it because France was still to strong at that point).

Apart from that, we haven’t tried to take over anything (Congo was given to us).

Really? From what I’ve read the Congo was taken by the Belgians. Even if it was given to them, was still an attempt at empire and started that whole Scramble for Africa madness.

Well yes, but it wasn’t exactly taken in the way that countries are being taken. There was an alliance of European explorers that ventured into the Congo with the purpose of research and knowledge regarding the country. Leopold II was immensely interested in the land.

All this caused a bit of a fuzz in Europe, so at the Berlin Convention, they gave the biggest part of the land to Belgium, and some smaller territories to the other European nations. Leopold II was just happy because he thought that this “expansion” would make Belgium a “bigger” nation.

Few years later, however, rubber became a “hot” product, there was high demand, and it just so happened that the Congo had plenty of rubber trees, so Leopold II drained the land of its natural resources and it hasn’t recovered since.

The Germans might have lost, but their military excellence have claimed an enormous amount of lives on the allies side, the Soviets alone lost three times more men and materials due to our good friend Stalin whom for some reason is being praised as a hero. Sending endless hordes of T-34’s into well organized Tiger tank collums surely wasn’t the brightest of Soviet military tactics. When they finally pushed Germany back out of Russia they lost five tanks for every German tank.

But even that doesn’t top the failure of France, letting Hitler build up his armies and then defeating France using the new but highly effective Blitzkrieg doctrine when Germany had a smaller force at the time. :fffuuu:
