YES! Bur why did you feel the need to replace the RPG model? what was wrong with the old one?

My resumee of playing CU2 Multiplayer:

  • walk button (look in keyboard-options) still doesn’t work. Instead sprint button is jused for walking in MP (It’s ok I guess. Maybe remove walk key from keyboard-options. Didn’t test but is it possible to walk slow in Singleplayer?)
  • walk feels too slow compared to HLDM
  • didn’t notice any difference regarding base movement (air control, jump hight, longjump distance etc.)
  • gaussjump seems to be nerfed (can’t jump as high… wasn’t able to easily jump into crossfire windows with half charged tau-cannon)
  • taucannon-beam animation seems to be speed up. looks better than before. GJ
  • weapon balance still seems to be the same as before except crossbow reg (crossbow feels wonderful now)
  • sound changes are a nice touch
  • wallgauss has no splash (at least not enaugh)
  • crossfire is cool, but the windows are a bit hard to move through (no mini-balconies infront of the windows and can’t jump into the window with only a normal jump… needs crouchjump. The destructed walls on crossbow and tau-cannon balcony provide too much cover. Since there is no wallgauss splash you can’t use these walls for splashing either)
  • holding the use key in multiplayer doesn’t slow me down at all
  • didn’t find an option to configure weapon bob and drag

I’m on a very slow connection at the moment due to holiday traveling, but you can bet in 3-5 hours I’ll be checking out all of this with glee!

You know there is a forum ( Black Mesa International ) with dozens of translations ready to give to you guys ? Every country worked really hard on each translation, 'hope you’ll use it :slight_smile:

Have you made it so the Apache acquires its own targets like the Hunter Chopper? If not, then why does the Apache rely on MissileTargets or a scriptedscehdule to attack enemies?

Before the update, I had some stuttering problems. I googled the problem and found following hints: https://steamcommunity.com/app/362890/discussions/0/620712999967419270/
I edited my autoexec’.cfg file. Also, I added “-dxlevel 90” to my launch options of Black Mesa in Steam to help the stuttering. After the update my pistol and grenade are pink and I can see triggers.
Could someone help me please?

I would also like to know how we now can implement or edit the new translations… or does “updated” merely mean that you re-used and transferred the ones from the mod version ? These are still faulty (not only in terms of improper displaying in the mod version, but also in terms of grammar, typos and actual translation). That’s why we from the translators wanted to have access to the new closed caption system in the Steam version: To improve upon our first translations. So a How-to would be highly appreciated ! Kudos to the update though, everything runs nice, crossfire is a blast, now only waiting for STU and OARU to get delivered via a new update or to surface in the workshop ^^

Well my opionions about the Update:

Good things:

  • You added Crossfire and it looks good.
  • Respawning weapons sounds cool and looks cool. (Maybethe effect is a little big)
  • Crossfire Bunker Alarm Sound is awesome.
  • Teamchat & Kills in Teamcolors.

Questions:

  • How to turn off the Godrays?

  • How to change the Sensivity of in-zommed crossbow? Or how to turn it off?

Bad things:

  • Holy Shit the performance on crossfire is bad. I have on some spots ~ 20 fps. I can run CS:GO & GTA V very fine you must do something :frowning: .

  • Generally it seem performance has ben killed. I have lower fps on all Maps, i expected to have more.

  • Walking dont seems to work.

  • Tau cannon overcharge dont hurt now.

  • On crossfire jumop from one window to the other is hard because no trim.

  • Ranking dont work. All Playernames are “unnamed”.

  • Crossfire have no Loading Screen like the other Maps.

  • On crossfire around the Helicopter place you should use “Playerclip Textures”. The Helicopter Place blocks Players, kinda bad when Players are in Hurry to reach the Bunker.

  • Some Windows on crossfire are very little. (I mean the from Helicopter to the middle floor). Kinda bad in fast Multiplayergames.

  • Gauss escape on Crossfire dont work. :frowning:

  • Seems Gaussjumps are now lower. I dont like that.

  • Still no “cl_autowepswitch” function after 6 Months. :frowning:

  • The “nextmap” Text in scoreboeard dont fit with long Servernames.

  • My playermodels Face and Hair still change and dont are the same i set in Options.

To answer your questions:

To turn off godrays, type bms_gr_enable 0/1 … 0 is off, 1 is on.

Zoom sensitivty is a setting. Go to Options > Black Mesa > zoom mouse sensitivity.

Bad things:
We’re aware of the Crossfire optimization issues.
Ranking bug is known.

Okay, I tried out the update, and I am afraid to say that the bug still exists. It is easier to ignore to some degree; it doesn’t manifest itself on every scientist now but just affects them (seemingly) randomly. Sadly, it appears that the majority of scientists are still affected. I’m glad to hear you are taking steps to fix the issue nonetheless. My CPU: Intel Core i3 2120 - Graphics are integrated: Intel HD Graphics 2000 - Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium - That said, I plan to eventually get a dedicated graphics card (the only thing that has held me back is my power supply is only 300 watts). I wish you luck in addressing this problem heading into the future! If you would like me to provide more information, I will gladly oblige.

Pretty much agree with everything dmx6 said.

Performance did not improve at all, it was already horrible and now it has degraded more.

To add a few other things i’ve noticed in my very little time spent playing after the update released:

Weapon models are bugged on a lot of custom maps, mappers, you may want to update them, sucks that this could not have been done in an automatic way so not every single map would require an update, just leaving this here so mappers can see it.

The muzzle fire animation on the pistol & mp5 are very strong & annoying in multiplayer, especially in not very well lit places, it messes with our eyes.

Overall, i believe you are focusing more on superficial stuff and not fixing core problems of the game, it’s like having a house who’s foundation is sinking, water pipes busted, raining thru the ceiling and it’s owner wondering what color curtains to buy for his windows or what door rug would look good at the front door.

There is more important stuff that needs to be focused on in my point of view , to name a few:

  1. Performance is terrible.
  2. Cl_autowepswitch is not working.
  3. Sv_pure is not working.
  4. We don’t see spectators on the scoreboard & we can’t spectate specific players as the cam changes when the spectated player dies (this is problematic because we cant monitor suspected cheaters efficiently).
  5. Spawning takes too long, give servers an option to remove the death screen or shorten its duration.
  6. Weapons are unbalanced.
  7. When downloading a large map, the download progress bar will bug and reset to 0, making the user think there is a problem with the download, a nice improvement to this would also be displaying the size of the downloaded map + the speed that it’s being downloaded at.
    8 ) Rpg doesnt track well.
  8. When a player has the jetpack, the icon is no longer displayed, making the player forget he has the jetpack on him, it should always be there, displaying a jetpack is equipped.

I hope these will be addressed in the shortest possible time.

ONe thing I always wondered about is how you switch from spectating mode to spawning in DM ? I dunno if it’s a bug on my side, but I also can’t locate the bar where you can switch the view option when I’m just spectating (I guess it’s handled similar to CS:S, at least judging from some screen shots… Mine has no interface at all, LOL). And I can’t get ba ck to the starting screen to choose spawn for joining the match. Instead I have to disconnet and connect again and that’s really annoying.

Press “M” again to enter the Selection Screen where u can select to Spawn.

Really like the update, but it created a lot of bugs.

Unfortunately for me it is not just that I can see triggers and that my pistol is pink. Enemies do not move, although they are alive and I think I cannot activate the triggers. The game became pretty unplayable for me. Does anyone have ideas, please? I started playing the game and found it every enjoyable so far. It would be a pity if I cannot play the game - after all I bought it.

Am I the only one having these issues?

This is good news, if I buy BM is this already in the download, or is it a separate DL?

Already downloaded, it’ll ship with the game.

You’ll need to validate your game files if you see missing textures. Some mods might have broken during this update also, which may cause that.

As for the trigger boxes showing up, we believe that this was an unforseen save file incompatibility issue. We didn’t expect this to happen (or we would’ve warned you!) and we’re not yet sure how to fix it.
