Social media campaign starts on Facebook

If it dissuades anyone else from uploading it; we MIGHT consider putting up the video on our official channel now that enough people have seen it. If we do, it would be a revised version that A) Isn’t as dark as Doom 3, B ) Is on a difficulty level higher than Easy, C) is a little more planned out. The video we took was actually “take 1” that developers were meant to comment on, so we could make iterations of it, and I really never expected it to go out publically.

I WILL SPAM AND REPORT EVERY VIDEO ON YOUTUBE TO TRY AND GET IT TAKEN DOWN

I LOVE YOU

I know it would be the same footage and all, but still. Just the notion of having an official video up there gets me excited - especially considering how many people have actually seen it.

Also, since Joel said that track in the video was replaced, will it be included in the soundtrack release or not?

Change that might to will Katana and I’ll stop hammering away at the sendspace retry button :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, it would be nice to see a bit more “professional” version of the same scene.

I’d like to see a more planned out version, yes.

Unfortunately, the first version will spread like wildfire until you upload the better one. If you do it soon enough, PCGamer and others will probably update their article on the subject with the new version.

^ Pretty much this

I’m curious to see how it actually should look, as well as if there is different music in the new one, or if the track hasn’t been replaced yet.

Because lets face it, if something like this is gonna spread around, better an official video then a leak that tons of people have downloaded and upload in arbitrary places.

Also, notice how 90% of people STILL think this mod is called Black Mesa: Source

Can’t say no to that idea, i’d love to see it.

I found out about the footage from level “On a Rail” by lucky coinincidence, so I downloaded it from Youtube (for some reason streaming video in high quality works crappy on my computer) and watched 4 times in a row.
I specially create an account on this web (but I followed it for a long time) to tell you guys from the developement: THIS IS THE SH*T ! (in positive meaning of course  ).
I read some time ago interview with Carlos Montero and I have to say - that’s the “Valve quality” he was talking about ! Who know’s, if rest of your mod keeps similar gameplay level it can beat the original in the opinion of many players.
For now - awesome job guys.

PS. Music from this gameplay brings by some reason memories of good old Unreal 1, which is also awesome

Ditto!

lol Ram, you’re getting a lot of hate and speculation because of the forced removal from valvetime

Valve community he says ? Being a member of the community, I don’t feel hurt and I didn’t know about valvetime until this leak. They wanted publicity, they got it but I doubt it’s the kind of advertisement they expected.

Maybe if they didn’t put it up in the first place, AFTER BLACK MESA DEVS ASKED THEM NOT TO, they wouldn’t be in this situation.

Fucktards.

I tried to explain that to him.

Intended or not, it’s still nice to see an increase in media for this now, gives us more reason to look forward to it (at least for me it does). It’s revitalizing in a way.

lol

5 years sounds reasonable enough for a Half-Life 2 remake

Remaking a Source Engine game on Source doesn’t make much sense, HL2 remake on Cryengine 3 for the win.

Inb4 cease and desist.

Bloodshot, who is Kevin Chen and what’s the date of this facebook post?

The game would lost all atmosphere, would be stupid and dull.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
