The bullsquid looks fine and ferocious, what I wanna see is sersoft upload a video of one of his “nightly HL speedruns” and for fx. to go find me a Half-Life speed run completed in half an hour without using bug tools, glitch tricks, and editing.

Here’s one without editing, but still using what you call bug tools and glitch tricks. Of course that depends on definition. If you define bunnyhopping as a glitch trick that already makes the completion of half life in 30 minutes without glitch tricks an impossible task.

Me too. Luckily the eyes on the media release screenshot are just the right color so they won’t be too noticeable in the middle of a fight.

Can a dev please specify what place the Vortigaunt screenshot represents? There are comparison screenshots for every shot except that one. I guess it’s a made up Lab, but is there any kind of reference in the original HL1? Even if it was just a corridor or a room, where is that lab in reference to the original HL?

The vort really has no comparison screenshot, as the Aquatics Lab is one of the new labs in the chapter, taking the place of one of the various labs you find. It’s just past the lobby, it was originally designed to be a giant fish tank, in order to explain how the Icthyosaur got into the dam lake in ST, however, for gameplay reasons and some technical, it was changed to a lab with bubble tubes. I still have the old hammer shots of the original aquatics lab, all the signage for it was done when I scrapped, so this retained the title and some of the props.

Oh right. Thanks. I guess that, if we knew the layout exactly, we could just take a photo of whatever corridor or room that new lab has been added into.

BTW, there is a very obvious lighting bug in the ceiling, in that Vort screenshot. The ceiling itself is pitch black but the lamp has so much light.

It’s not a part of the transit system, you only see that in Inbound.

Huh, that’s a minor disappointment…

I though the team said a while back that as we moved through some of the levels we would see references or other parts of the transit system in some places.

It’s weird how as you went through most of the game in Half-Life the only mention of the transit system was in the beginning of the game with you riding in the tram.
You’d figure that the office complex would have atleast 1 platform. But nope, in the original Half-Life office workers had to walk through a canal to get to their place of work.

It really is just a minor thing; but still, for what Black Mesa is trying to accomplish here, it doesn’t make a lot of sense to not put those little details in.

Heh… it’s funny, as more of our questions are answered and as more media gets released, you begin to see just how imperfect this mod really is
