Ronsters model suggestion thread

I don’t know, I think the fact that it’s currently impossible is a bigger problem.

I’ve never experienced that, but I can’t be certain. I highly doubt it, though, as there’s never a time that it’s used as far as I can recall. The first workaround that comes to mind is lowering the friction on floor textures, but I don’t think I need to explain why that wouldn’t be worth it.

I do think the moveable stairs would be a good idea for another game, though. While that’s actually not a bad idea, I can’t think of a spot it would fit in Black Mesa.

I’m not even gonna touch the dumpster, cart or toilet.

Ronster why not just suggest models in the currently existing suggestion thread? This thread seems unnecessary.

I asked the same thing, was met with… indifference?

Props and models are usually made on request from the level designers on a need to have basis. Over time this generates a catalog of props for all of the level designers to chose from and implement in other places of the game. Rarely are props made before they have an intended purpose.

If you do feel like you have an exceptionally awesome suggestion, we do already have a thread in place for this as mentioned above.

sorry guys if you want to merge this thread into that one I dont have any issues with that or shut this thread and lock.

The roller steps would replace the all too conveinient crates and boxes I guess in some places. But I say that without meaning I dislike the pre-built crates or structures that lead to a vent or conveyor belt just could be more interesting to have to put roller stairs in their place. Where it could become more interesting is when the stairs don’t actually reach the place you need to get to so you may have to travel along a ledge or something.

Anyway I won’t post anymore here as per request. Like I said I only created this because I wanted to focus on models only. And be more interactive type of models mainly rather than aesthetics.

I also want to applaud whoever came up with the small jumping puzzles where you land on different textures and the footsteps sounds change with each platform. This is genius and actually really groundbreaking. It just feels really cool.

No need to merge, just post there instead
