I took me a few tries as well, but once you got the right timing, it´s easy.
Oh and btw the same pistons are waiting for you around that corner 
Start sprinting when the first piston is moving up, that should make things alot easier

Oddly I’m having this trouble as well. Absolutely loving the game, played the original and all the others to death…but getting amazingly frustrated with this particular sequence.
I can get past the first set without much issue, but the second set I keep getting killed by. I’m sprinting, I’m doing it as soon as they start to raise, but no matter what I get killed…and even, at one point, had my corpse flung across the room somehow…

If you cant get the hang of sprinting them, try throwing a satchel charge on top of the first piston, which which will then stop, and you can go through the other two relatively easily
do you even have satchels at this point in Residue Processing?
you can pick them up in a room just before the pistons

No way to pass through the first set of pistons, I died all the time. But with loading the last autosave (juste in the adjacent room) I succeeded easily on the first try for the two sets !
Ah thanks for the hint with the satchel but i solved it with noclip on shame
After the observation spiral and the primary clarifiers.
I tried to find a way of shutting off the gas, or starting the sprinklers, or crouch jumping all over the place but can’t figure it out.
Please help.

How to past those crushing things in the conveyor belt in the residue prepossessing chapter?
Is there a way to turn them off or something or just require ridiculous precision?
I’ve been trying for like 20 minutes now.
I’m starting to believe that I will be forced to noclip them.
When they all go down, stand against them, holding forward and the sprint key, that way as soon as they go up you’ll speed past them.
I’ve tried that but the last one gets me every time because it seems I need to crouch at the last moment.
Maybe it’s a bug for me because it seems I’m the only one with this problem when I haven’t had any other problem in other areas where you need to crouch jump, sprint, etc. also I find the game fairly balanced and I don’t have major problems dealing with the HECU but this is getting on my nerves!
I’m stuck there too. The thing is ridiculous. I think it’s bugged.
At least I’m not the only one, how do I enable the console? I’m resigned to use noclip now.
