For some reason the crosshair won’t show up on HL2 ever since the update :frowning: I’ve been messing around with the console, but it hasn’t worked. I’m thinking about taking a look at mouse options and see, although I feel pretty hardcore playing without it. Or maybe it has to do with difficulty… Man, I dunno, hard stuff, hard stuff.

I still think the game looks too bright now :[

Knowing the game by heart somehow makes it seem a bit too easy…
Is there a way to up the difficulty in the console?
On the other hand, it would be cool to try playing without a crosshair, is there a way to remove it? [or enable, in jokerine’s case]

You can up the health of enemies and lower you weapon damage, but I think that it goes back to defaults everytime to load a new map. Don’t know about removing the crosshair.

That actually works. Except that it doesn’t remove the “( )” thing around the crosshair. Anyway, headshots should now be a bitch. :retard: Goodie!

See if going into the options and unchecking “Show Health and Ammo status on crosshair”-thingy will get rid of the () diisplay.

It probably won’t, seeing as I already have it unchecked. :wink: I was very pissed at ep2 for not having an option to disable that. :hmph:

[edit] the “( )” things ruin the whole no-crosshair effect. Anyone know how to fix this?
I’ve heard that the crosshairs are actually font characters. That may also be a clue to jokerine’s problem.

[edit] Found “hl2crosshairs.ttf”. How does one edit this file?
