I was going to take loadsa screenshots off MH Tri but I realized the game looks terrible in stills and taking screens was really finicky and I wouldn’t do it while fighting anything.

I think we can agree my connection has been raped by enough TF2 screengrabs to make that fact irrelevant. Besides, I haven’t played Ep1 or Ep2, yet I liked HL1/HL2 and I’m not bashing them. In fact I’m looking forward to their inevitable price-drops. You know, because they didn’t take away satchels and make Freeman into a renegade French-Canadian mime.

The blue really added contrast/brightness when firing, and it’s my favourite customization for HL and its mods (including TFC). It’s even cooler in my eyes when I remember it was created by taking pictures of a full moon on a cloudy night, swapping some colours, and then enhancing them. Blue-frilled muzzleflash technology is a really nice thing, try it if you don’t believe me. (It lets the flash seem brighter by including a swatch of extra blue around the flash, plus by using white for the center instead of a dimmer yellow. It ends up looking yellower than it is thanks to the contrast.)
