I don’t know about you, but Rail Simulation is more relaxing than Flight Simulation.
You need a pretty damn good computer to run flight sims, even on low graphics. The amount of mathematics required to simulate fine details and everything is just… astounding.
Also, yeah. I can see why. I can see that trains are relaxing. At least you guys don’t have laws and rules that span few books about class airspaces you should be in, what altitude you should fly at, what controller to talk to, where you’re actually going compared to what you’re seeing (trust me, IFR is wayy easier than VFR when it comes to wind correction and things like that), and complex stuff like that.
Most of all, you don’t need a computer to do rail sim. Not the computer you’re looking at, this one.
It’s called an E6B computer, and you’ll see that this is a godsend when you need it, but a bitch to use. If you are curious what it does, you can calculate wind correction, your speed, how far you can go, how long you can stay up, and other things, only using a pencil.
Weather could also be a bitch, where sudden updrafts and downdrafts (they are mostly predictable, but some just aren’t), turbulence, and multitude of mother nature’s dickslapping techniques will make things hard.
Although I only do prop planes in sims (mostly because jets are harder to land), it’s very fun.

Oh right, you also don’t need to spend few hundred dollars for a yoke or a decent stick for a rail sim.

When I play BVE, I use something called Rail Driver. It’s a very versatile controller when you’re playing openBVE. You don’t need a powerful computer to play openBVE.
